Ah the free market at work.
(Similar to when I went to CVS to pickup a 90$ prescription and they had their own generic version for 7.99).

This is important!
Tell your Friends.

I can’t believe some insurances quit covering them 😐

From Slate:

The generic Adrenaclick will cost $109.99 for two doses, compared with $649.99 for the same amount of drug in an EpiPen. That’s good news, both for financial and safety reasons: STAT reported last year that some parents and institutions had begun filling up syringes with epinephrine as a cost-cutting measure, a DIY solution that could pose great risk to the children who may have eventually needed injections. A more affordable alternative will help ensure safer epinephrine injections.

That’s assuming, though, that the people who need these devices know exactly what to ask for when they’re sitting in their doctors’ offices. Otherwise, they’ll still be stuck with the overpriced product. Here’s why: The mechanism by which Adrenaclick injects the drug is slightly different from EpiPen’s mechanism, so the Food and Drug Administration has ruled that the two are not therapeutically equivalent. That distinction is important because it means a prescription for an EpiPen cannot be filled with Adrenaclick. If you want the cheaper option, you have to have an Adrenaclick prescription.

You must ask your doctor for an Adrenaclick prescription!

I also found a coupon from Impax on 0.15mg and 0.3mg epinephrine injection, USP auto-injectors, which appear to be the generic version of Adrenaclick; these coupons cover up to $100 per pack for 3 packs of these injectors (6 total injectors).

Some customers may be automatically eligible for $100 off the retail price thus only paying $10 for a pack, but this may be good backup for those who for whatever reason do not meet those requirements.

Pass this information on, potentially save a life.

I just watched The Conjuring 2, and while it’s on my mind in a similar vein to this post, I also want to spread some appreciation for Javier Botet because GOD DAMN LOOK AT THIS SHIT

He has Marfan Syndrome, which is a rare connective tissue condition that gives him bizarrely elongated limbs and allows him to do unnatural things with his body, and he’s built quite a resume for himself appearing in horror movies

Like Doug Jones, he also appeared as three of the ghosts in Crimson Peak:

But you may have also seen him as The Crooked Man in The Conjuring 2:

Eddie’s leper in IT:

The Nina monster in all three REC movies:

Set, the God of Death in The Mummy (2017):

The titular creature in Mama:

He did motion capture work for the Xenomorph in Alien: Covenant:

And he most recently appeared in Insidious: The Last Key and the Slender Man movie!!

He’s done other more obscure horror movies too but basically this guy is adorable and inspiring and an amazing talent and I adore him 8D

Had the opportunity and fucking owned it

“callout culture” is terrifying in about a million different ways

haedonists:

chavisory:

fierceawakening:

aftselakhis-shaladin:

skye-writing:

…but one I don’t often see talked about is that it’s weirdly authoritarian. Under the “callout culture” schematic, you are forgiven your problematic act if you just stop, apologize, and never do it again. Arguing with your caller-out is “asserting privilege”. Better to just go quietly.

Problem is, I’ve seen people called out for basically any damn thing you can think of. Wearing the wrong hairstyle. Liking the wrong TV show. Being told by ostensible progressives that any person can shut you down for anything they please and you are obligated to cooperate with them is…unsettling, to say the least. Attempting to explain yourself or stand up for your own perspective is “asserting privilege” rather than just, y’know, having some backbone.

The person calling you out is not automatically right. You are under absolutely no obligation to change your opinions, aesthetic, or preferences because someone on the internet told you to. It really bothers me that “take orders from anyone” is considered a worthwhile paradigm of social justice. If I’m going to stop doing something “problematic”, it’ll be because I’ve thought about it and come to my own conclusion, not because someone demanded it of me.

Plus, the things people accused of are often misleading. For example, in my callout I was called a rapist and pedophile for… shipping (the endless sheith wank), using trigger warnings for dark themes (which is apparently a proof I support them irl instead of me trying to protect the audience from disturbing content discussion), and not being a terf.

Yep. Ship dark stuff and you’re “a rape apologist.”

Which rapes have I defended, when, and how?

I think the original post is a couple years old at this point, but…something that’s been percolating for me in this time… I too was really confused and also disturbed at the level of authoritarian behavior and rhetoric from ostensible progressives when I first encountered this brand of the social justice movement.

But one conclusion that I’ve tentatively come to is that they are not progressives. They are not ostensible progressives. They’re not claiming or pretending to be.

They genuinely want things to be different for certain groups of people, in ways that …look a lot like freedom from oppression.

But they do not hold or value the deeper principles of liberalism or progressivism or even civil libertarianism. They are speaking and acting in accordance with their values, and things like freedom of speech or even freedom of thought, are not among them.

“But they do not hold or value the deeper principles of liberalism or progressivism or even civil libertarianism. They are speaking and acting in accordance with their values, and things like freedom of speech or even freedom of thought, are not among them.”

Tumblr just had me do a survey about how safe I feel on tumblr, how good of experience I have and if they feel their updates work well. let me tell you, they did not get high scores. Is till randomly cant’ see gifs or images, pornbots still are getting worse, don’t get me started on antis and their suicide baiting and the number of times I see plagiarism on this site is insane.

I have no idea what’s going on here

Back in the early aughts, when many millenials were in high school, before Facebook and Youtube, The Game began. No one knows who started it, but the moment we learned we were playing it, we began to lose. The goal of The Game is to forget you are playing The Game for as long as possible. The rules of The Game are as follows: Everyone is always playing The Game all the time; at school, during breakfast, at night when you are asleep, etc. The Game never ends. The moment you remember that you are playing The Game, you lose and must immediately announce to those around you, “I just lost The Game!” thus making them remember they are also playing The Game and causing them to lose as well. Upon losing, you begin The Game again. Sometimes players could go weeks or months without losing, sometimes only minutes. At the height of The Game’s popularity, it became common to see people at events such as Comic Con or midnight movie premieres, wearing t-shirts proclaiming “You just lost The Game!” Once they were noticed, groans and shouts of “Fuck you!” could be heard for miles. These people thrived on the chaos, taking great pleasure in the cries of their victims. Most people eventually grew bored of The Game, and many began to claim they won by choosing not to care about it anymore. Some rely on a particular XKCD comic strip or Tumblr post to lend a sense of legitimacy to their feeling of victory. They are fools. It is impossible to win The Game. There is only losing. Only a few diehards remain loyal to the rules. The drop in popularity has allowed many to keep from losing The Game for years at a time. The growth of social media has caused a minor resurgence, although without the satisfaction of real time auditory feedback when causing others to lose, The Game will likely fade back into obscurity once again. Someday when we are old and gray, our grandchildren will innocently ask us to play a game of checkers, and we will shriek and shout until the whole nursing home joins us in defeat. Death is the only release from The Game.

Millennials have always been pretty nihilistic lol.

Our friend Raven lost The Game in 2008 and has been the face of The Game on Wikipedia ever since. She’ll probably be happy (or pissed? who knows) to hear The Game is having a resurgence

Damn. We lost

What’s your opinion on putting spells you find on tumblr into your Grimoire/using other people’s spells in general? BTW I’m sorry if this has been asked before i only just recently got back into tumblr.

orriculum:

i think the general consensus with copying tumblr spells into your grimoire is that if you post pictures you have to credit the person with a link to their posts, but otherwise personal use is just fine.

there arent any rules about casting spells other people have written, personally i prefer to cast my own spells because they feel better to me, but everyone has their own preference. some people might prefer casting spells other people have written if they like following structure, or arent confidence in their own spell-writing capabilities.

I need some help deciding what to tackle next. All of these will (hopefully) be done at some point though due to my insane work schedule I can’t do too many at once. So the options are:

  1. Stuck in the City: Storm Witch Edition
a long post similar to the others in the series about doing dorm and apartment friendly witchcraft related to storm and weather magick as well as some suggested spells, deities and altar tips
  2. Stuck in the City: Cottage Witch Edition
A long post similar to the others in the series about doing dorm and apartment friendly magick in this case related to traditional practices such as kitchen magick, tea magick and hearth related spells
  3. On a Budget Witchcraft: Kitchen Magick
A post for those witches out there who have strict budgets or just not much income and how they can still practice without need of buying large expensive tools. This particular one focusing on magick in the kitchen and related to foods and teas
  4.  On a Budget Witchcraft: Crystal and Gemstones

A post for those witches out there who have strict budgets or just not much income and how they can still practice without need of buying large expensive tools. In this particular post it would focus on cheaper crystal types, and more inexpensive substitutes for big fancy crystals.

  5. Deities of the World (part 1)
This post will be a bit different of a type of post it would be both history based and witchcraft for those who do deity work focusing on deities of different types and different lore figures throughout the world and different lore. It would cover sometimes more obscure faiths or cultures that may be partially closed but this is also for informational purposes. Each segment would be separated either by culture and/or deity archetype. This post is for everyone interested in mythology but also will have sections with recommend offerings and even in some cases prayers or old traditional ways of worshipping that particular deity. Some posts would have several deities in them and some may be focused on one singular one.

So I would love to hear opinions?

A genie is brought forth from its lamp. The human’s first and only wish is to set the genie free before going about their business. So startled by the human’s choice, the genie wants to find out why they made it.

She pushed her hair back into her scarf as she continued typing away on her laptop in the cold, dark antique shop. The air is heavy with the smell of old clothing, dust and almost a cinnamon hint like incense burning. The man, tall and adorned in golden bands that once were nothing but chains binding him to the old lamp sitting on display with a price tag loosely tied to it. It no longer sparkled with the secret hidden magic deep with in it, that power no cut away from it forever.

She seemed to hardly notice him as he stared, almost dumbfound at her. “You. wish for nothing else, child?” He asked shifting his weight. “You had two I could have granted before-”

“I need no such thing as wishes for myself or even for others. I know the games that are played with them.” She spoke calmly but firmly, “Boredom makes even the kindest genies sour as they wait inside those gilded prisons. You are free, go and do as you please.”

He continued to stand there, staring at her with the bewilderment of a child. His lips parted so he could continue his questioning though she waved her hand gently, indicating for him not to worry about such things, golden bracelets jingling from her wrists.

“Your life is up to you now, go and fulfill it as you see fit. Be as great or simple as you choose. You can be a grand general of army to seek out your revenge or you can choose to have a family and settle in,” her eyes seemed to sparkle with mischief. “You can have the lamp if you’d like, I keep mine for incense.”

We are multiple generations now with no experience with strikes, and I see a lot of confused, well meaning people who want to help but don’t know strike etiquette.

1. Never cross a picket line of striking workers.

2. Never purchase or take free goods from a company who’s workers are striking

3. Honk to support strikers if you drive by a picket line.

4. Join strikers on the picket line even if it’s not your strike, but follow their directions and defer to them while there.

5. Say “that’s great, the strike is working, the company should negotiate with their workers” whenever someone complains about profits lost, inconveniences or other worker-phobic rhetoric. Always turn it back on the company, who has all the power and money.
