Sadly I’m working a night shift so I just got up, making a lazy breakfast and going to watch a movie or two because I have to get ready for work. Though I do have the next 4 days off though mostly its for moving, which isn’t the most fun thing to do. But its only one block down from my current house. Hopefully it won’t be too difficult with a cat haha
There is an instagram user by the name Princemagicshop that is copying listings from our shop and others and raising the prices for his own gain. He is working as a middle man without the consent of the shops he is stealing from. He is stealing money from people and is not to be trusted.
We received the following submission from a customer who wished to remain anonymous so we did not post the original submission.
“Ok, so I was browsing through my spirit account yesterday after I have been away for weeks. I found an interesting pre-bound on one local account. We followed each other for a while and have few conversation about spirits but I’ve never bought anything from him because his shop just resell custom conjure from popular shop. But he said he’s starting to offer spirit binding by himself then he list a pre-bound. I conclude it myself that ok, maybe he just start to become a conjurer and that pre-bound was his.
So I asked the shop about the cost. The shop owner said for a pre-bound or Malinda the Daisy Dragon it would be 35$ for spirit bound alone. 60$ for vessel bound. All he need is my full name and birthday so he could bind her with me. I told him I would think about it. Then I browsed through tumblr including Creature-Cauldron to see what I have missed.
Then I realized that I have missed one big thing.
Malinda is actually a listing on Creature-Cauldron.
The shop, Princemagicshop, just snatched profile of Malinda, translated it into his language and list it as his. Not to mention that he list her on a very crazy price.
And didn’t say anything about that fact that she need to view APPLICATION first before deciding to choose a human companion. This shop act as if anyone who pay them would get her. He never say a word about the fact that not everyone that’s interested in her will get her.
The worst thing is that he had the gut to find new flower picture for her and even post credit for the pic but no credit for Creature-Cauldron.
IF you’re gonna be a middle-man, at least tell your customers where you get the stuff from because it’s not yours anyway.
As I confront him that the listing is from the shop I know and asked him how would I be sure that I would get her because 1) He didn’t say anything about application. What’s he gonna send to Malinda to choose then? Just my name and birthday? 2) There’s no guarantee that after I or any other customers pay him, he would get us Malinda. As your shop process always be send application first, wait for spirit response, then proceed the payment.
His replied to me was so aggressive (Which I didn’t included here because it’s not in English) First he just laughed and said “well, I know. I got the shop from your instagram. Don’t worry. I’m not gonna scam you. If I can’t get her I would just return you the money lol" This reply, to me, is the first huge red-flag. I haven’t say anything about scam. I just ask how he would get a pre-bound if he doesn’t submit application.
Then he keep rambling about how I would definitely get her because if I got interested in her that means she’s been calling out to me and will definitely choose me (clearly that bastard haven’t even read your shop description. Application needed to be filled in order to be chosen by spirits) then he kept rambling about how he would work with you guys to get another spirit for me if Malinda doesn’t choose me (Which is super funny because I already got RA from you guys before this fucker know about Creature-Cauldron. So I really don’t need his help about getting RA at all. Actually it was my review that made him look through your shop and thought he could make money from you)
I told him that my first intention wasn’t calling him out. I was truly interested in Malinda until I found out that she’s actually from my favorite shop so I have to call him out. Then I told him that I’m not interested anymore because of his aggressive behavior and his shop that suddenly seemed fishy to me.
Then I just left.
But the event let me to another question afterward.
Clearly he could be lying. If the customer didn’t happened to know CC like me, they will have no way to check if Malinda’s listing is already closed or not. So if her listing is closed this guy still can pretend that he has her for sell and have excuse to not refund.
So the whole process makes me think he’s lying. If I didn’t call him out. He would just copy your listing and sell fake spirit or empty vessel for 60$ Why would you refund if you already got 60$ in your pocket without investing in anything?
Not to mention that he would bind her to human companion’s spirit except if you pay extra 30$ (or 900 baht, in his list) he then will bind her to the vessel, while in reality, you can get a safe distance binding for the spirit to vessel of your choice with out any extra cost from Creature-Cauldron. Also, CC binding is very safe as it care for the spirit’s feeling first and spirit can break the binding if they want to. But for Princemagicshop, his binding skill is new. He just masters it for a few week. And if you want to unbound you’ll need to pay him extra 10$ (While in CC, spirit can break the bond him/herself)
I looked through his shop and found that most of his listings are from well-known shop, Creepy-Hollows, Lilith’s Treasure Tavern Moon Spirit Boutique, Moon Goddess Magick etc. All he did was copy their listing, translate it, add some price and put it on his listing without telling the truth that non of this are his. He’s not a conjurer, just someone who can speak English and have Paypal so he can act as the middle-man for the local that don’t know how to buy stuff online from oversea. The set price was added from original price for 50%.
The worst thing is. If you confront him about the listing he would admit that non of the spirits were conjured by him but when his customers have spirit problem he never let them contact the original conjurer. He jumped in and become spirit expert all of sudden, then tried to summon those spirit. (Then he ended up getting attacked by the spirits- if the spirits did attacked him, not him being delusional and blame someone else’s innocent companion- which we all know it’s a big no-no for anyone to try contacting a spirits if they are not their companion or original conjurer)
So his practice is so wrong at many level. I can’t imagine how many legit spirit workers had been taken advantage by this person, how many spirits has been mistreated or how many people has been putting into risky position because they might have offended spirit that isn’t a companion at will.
Actually there’re no actual conjurers or spirit workers in my country. All they did was re-selling what they bought from other country (mostly America) but they claimed to their customers that they are expert and trustworthy. Most of them are kids. (Even the guy from Princemagicshop is still in school)
I am really upset by what happened and want to apologized to you guys because I felt like I did partly responsible for this. I just wanted to review my favorite shop and share it with my local spirit community. I didn’t expect that it would let to some leech like him to try making money from you.”
To the person who submitted this, thank you for coming to us with this. We so not blame you for what happened and we do not view you as being responsible for it. He acting on his own and knows fully well that he is ripping off his customers. We are very glad you came to us and sent us what you did.

Texturing is a technique that involves
adding local shading and details on surfaces to better represent the
material of an object.
This technique is of course closely linked to shading in general. This is usually applied after defining a global shading.

One of the big differences between global and local shading is homogeneity. The
very principle of global shading is to give a sufficiently contrasting
effect between the shaded and lit areas to bring out volume and depth.
Conversely,
a texture must be as homogeneous as possible. It must be able to be
applied on large, uniform surfaces, without making it look bad.
2. Applying a texture
A
texture being homogeneous in terms of its luminosity/contrast, if it is
applied to an object without taking into account the global shading, we
will lose any effect of volume and depth.
A texture applied to a sphere without shading. Only the deformation of the texture can give us a clue on the shape of the object, but it is still difficult to discern.
Homogeneous contrast
When applying a texture to an object, shadows must also be taken into account. It
is therefore important to maintain a uniform contrast between colours. A
dark line separating a light zone from a dark zone should not keep the
same colour between these two zones.
The color of the line will be lighter on the lighter side and darker on
the darker side to preserve its contrast with the background.
In
the same way it is possible to apply a texture or pattern on a shaded
object, by proceeding to a simple color shifting in our palette.

3. Local shading
Since shading is used to highlight the bumps, there are generally two possible cases:
A groove
A bump
Each of these cases can be more or less accentuated by playing on the colors, the intensity of shadows and lights.
On the upper line, troughs ranging from the weakest to the strongest bumps. On the second line, these are bumps that stand out.
The
mastery of these light bumps is very important, it is the basis of the
textures, and will make it possible to manage all the simple cases, such
as wood or matte plastic.

4. Reflections
The application of a reflection is done in a
simple way, by applying diagonal strips of light of varying
thicknesses, and following a few rules.
A trough or bump will create an offset at the reflection level (proportional to the height change). As
for the shadows, there is no absolute, depending on the palette or the
material represented, it is possible to lighten or not the area at the
reflection level. It is also important not to have parallel light bands on faces that are not oriented in the same direction, as on this cube:

5. Dithering and granularity
Dithering consists in
creating a new false color from a checkerboard or other regular pattern
of two colors close enough to give an illusion of mixing. The closer
the colours are, the stronger the illusion will be. The more the colours
are contrasted, the stronger the granularity effect will be.
Dithering is basically used to obtain fake intermediate shades on
limited palettes, but it is also very useful for making complex and
rough textures.

The nature of the pattern totally changes the roughness aspect.

6. The art of destruction
The more complex a texture is, the more it will combine fundamental techniques such as bumpiness, reflections or granularity. However, some materials need to go further, by cutting, slash or breaking the base support.
Cuts It works much like bump, but on a much finer surface. We are subject to the same rules, of which here is a summary image:
From the finest to the most pronounced, on the first line of the cuts, and on the second of the bumps.

when ppl say flash animation pretty much always what i can tell they’re actually thinking of is what is referred to in animation practice as puppet animation, which i agree sucks like 90% of the time (there are a FEW shows that use it very masterfully, like homestar runner and one i’ll show later, though)

the funniest part is that most puppet animation isn’t even done in flash anymore. people use after effects instead because it has MUCH more sophisticated and useful tools meant specifically for puppet animation.
the technique can be used well, however. my little pony does it so fluidly it looks practically seamless.
homestar runner doesn’t focus nearly as much on fluidity, but instead on constructing strong, expressive key poses and making every frame really count.
puppet animation isn’t even limited to digital mediums. in fact, it’s not new at all.
the adventures of prince achmed is the world’s oldest surviving feature-length animated film – that’s right, predating snow white by over 10 years – and it was done entirely using puppet animation; black paper cutouts atop illuminated backgrounds. and it’s truly fucking breathtaking.
Things I believe needed to be said. It’s not the technique or the tool, it’s what the artist does with it.
