Ah it’s so cool seeing someone else getting into digital art! I just got my first tablet about a week ago, and I love it so much! I definitely reccommend Paint Tool Sai, installation can be slightly confusing because the site needs to be translated to English, but the program? A beauty, easy peasy to use. But either way, I cant wait to see what you make!!!

Oh I majored in animation and media arts, I have a bachelor’s and I’ve been using tablets since I was 12 ^-^ I just post more on my website rather than the blog here. Mostly I use digital art, I just am picky on what programs I use. I’m not a fan of photoshop tbh. I am also not a fan of Sai, I don’t like how they control and I don’t like how I guess restrictive they are when it comes to customization

This!

I feel like even body positivity is too focused on, like, the appearance of the body. I know I became a whole lot happier with my body when I started thinking of it less in terms of how it looked (to me or anyone else) and realized, that, like…

When I feel cool breeze on my skin on a really hot day, my body did that for me.

When I step into a bath after a hike, and my muscles ache, but in a good way, and the steam all around me makes me feel like a flower blooming, my body did that for me.

And the hike before it, and standing on a large rock breathing the raw winter air seeing the power of the half-frozen river. That too.

When I’ve had a plate of pasta puttanesca, and I chopped and sauteed the ingredients and now I’m full-but-not-uncomfortable, and warm all over, and perfectly content, my body did that for me.

My body doesn’t have to look awesome to be awesome. It’s awesome because it’s where I live.

“Dark” does not mean bad.

“Light” does not mean good.

Please stop using “black” as a synonym for evil.

Yes. This. Beyond the obvious sociological and racial bias color-coding this way has, there’s also the fact that there is nothing “dark” or “bad” about working with the various types of magic these terms imply.

And oh yeah, these terms are totally vague and don’t give us any idea what the speaker is talking about.

What does “black/dark” magic even mean? Well, it can mean lots of things.

Baneful magic: jinx, hexes, and curses. And legit, BTW. Plenty of nice, friendly people use this sort of magic. Sometimes the mundane world doesn’t offer us the protection we need to be safe.

Necromancy: communication and other work with the deceased. Again, plenty of nice, friendly people work with the spirits of the dead. Death is just part of life.

Demonology: working with demons. Not all magical traditions consider demons to be “bad” or “evil.” They are just a different type of entity.

What does “light” magic even mean, for that matter? Prosperity spells? Healing spells? Weather magic for nicer weather? I mean…

These terms don’t help us have useful conversations about magic, and they are also not very considerate to POC and to practitioners of socially-maligned magical traditions.

so anything described by color black is racist apparently?

Are you even fucking trying lmao

Hi, do you have a list of blogs you recommend following? i know u just movedurls, maybe thats why i cant find it if it exists? thanks and sorry if its right in front of me and im just missing it!

I know I have a list somewhere on my blog – I know I’ve made one before in any case. I think I’m going to update it, though, since there are some awesome new blogs that I follow and some people have changed URLs (and some blogs went private ): ).

The mention function was being really broken on this ask so I had to tag these all by hand. Basically I won’t be making a blog rec post for a while lol.

I’ll be bolding some of my forever faves / friends ^^ (Please no one take offense if you weren’t added to this list, I just have more blogs I follow than I think Tumblr will let me link in one post)

This is not news, but it is an important read, especially for people who were previously unaware of the trend of neo-Nazis stealing pagan symbols for their own.

If you are an anti-racist, anti-fascist pagan, keep doing what you are doing, you are keeping the fight alive

If you are an anti-racist, anti-fascist person who is not a pagan, help us spread the word of this, stand in solidarity with us as we kick the fascists out of our communities

If you are a fascist pagan, fuck off, this faith is a peaceful one

how could a show where the woman is under intense pressure to Make Things Work and Not Make A Fuss because if she does she’ll be torn apart by viewers possibly attract predatory men??? really makes you think!

WARNING: ANIMAL CRUELTY

Apparently people have been adopting dogs and either killing them themselves or dropping them to a kill shelter (and one even said they were flying them to poor Asian areas to be eaten) under the Twitter hashtag #pitbulldropoff

This is completely cruel and evil and word needs to get around about these demons so everyone knows what these demons are planning to do to dogs once they get ahold of them.

If you know someone or if you yourself is planning to give away a pitty by craigslist soon, DONT and wait for awhile!!!! They act like they’re going to adopt them and act all nice then they get rid of them, don’t be fooled!!

DM me for uncensored names!!!!!!!!

Someone should tell these people I will fucking end them.

What the actual fuck?!? This is outrageous and disgusting!

BOOST THIS even if it doesn’t match your blog theme please

This may not be lbgt related but I couldn’t not reblog it to here. This blog is a platform that gives me a voice and I’m using it. Spread this. please.

The reason these “demons” are killing pitball puppies is because of how many children/babies pitbulls have killed

Every single breed of dog has the potential to kill. Every. Single. One. I have encountered far more violent dalmatians, chowchows, chihuahuas, and others compared to pitbulls. You are disgusting if you think the reported pitbull attacks can justify killing off an entire breed you vile excuse for a human being.

I am a veterinary science major who has studied many breeds and their behaviors and other traits. You don’t think labs have killed kids? That goldens haven’t? Pitbull attacks are the ones that are showed to media the most, while other instances of breeds attacking is kept on the downlow because of the appearances and stigmas around the breed. The main reasons for pitbull attacks? Their owners. Either they were abused or were not kept inside. Many attacks by dogs are also energetic excited pooches wanting to play but not knowing their strength (it’s how my doberman has left me scratched up).

I have been attacked by chow mixes, labs, collies, etc, but never a pitbull. I have a pit and she has only ever saved my life MULTIPLE times. You can’t justify the murder of an entire breed.

Killing a breed won’t save kids, responsible dog owners will.

👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏^^^^^^^^

@blightout

Say it louder for the assholes in the back

KILLING A BREED WON’T SAVE KIDS, RESPONSIBLE DOG OWNERS WILL.

Sorry, with the addition I made via my main blog I had to reblog this again

This is so awful. I want to cry.

Pitbulls are super sweet dogs! You can’t make a claim to a certain breed because of how people think they are. If you raise a dog correctly, they shouldn’t be violent. And any species of dog has the potential to kill.

Anyone who has a problem with pits can come fight me themselves.

The Victorians called pit bulls nanny dogs because of how loving and protective they were of children. The only time pit bulls turn aggressive is to protect their families, or if their owners have abused them and made them that way.

You could probably report these people to the police for animal cruelty.

You discover that your garbage disposal is really the mouth of an eldritch monster. However, you realize this as you reach inside of it to recover your wedding ring.

“No no no no no!” I fumble for my ring as it teeters on the edge of the drain.  “Oh come on!” I exclaim as it tips sideways and disappears. I had taken it off and placed it safely to the side of he sink while I worked, I don’t even know how it got knocked into the sink.  Grumbling to myself I roll up my sleeves, make a face, and shove my hand into the garbage disposal.

“Give that back,” I mutter to myself as I feel around, blindly searching for my ring.

“WHAT WILL YOU GIVE ME FOR IT, MORTAL?”

I look around, no one else is in the room.  I lean as far to the side as I can, still keeping my hand in the drain, craning my neck for a glance at the TV in the next room.  It’s not on.  I glance at my phone, still playing the podcast I had started when I started to work.

“I SAID, WHAT WILL YOU GIVE ME FOR IT, MORTAL?”  Yup, the voice was definitely coming from the drain.

“How can you speak so clearly with my hand in your mouth?” I ask the garbage disposal?

“I WILL GIVE YOU BACK YOUR….. WAIT? WHAT DID YOU SAY?”

“I asked how you can speak so clearly with my hand in your mouth.”  I reach further down the drain, I had just felt something round and metal  “This isn’t telepathy,” I continue,  “I’m hearing you with my ears, not my brain.  But you enunciation is perfect..”

“WHY AREN’T YOU SCREAMING” the voice interrupts me. “USUALLY THE MORTALS SCREAM WHEN I ADDRESS THEM THE FIRST TIME.”

“Buddy,” I say pulling my hand out of the drain to wipe on my apron, “Think about what I’ve put down this drain today.  I have to guess you’ve been eating it.”

There’s a faint grinding, unsurprising like a garbage disposal chewing through kitchen scraps.

“YARROW, MUGWORT, MOSTLY THE STALKS, SOME LEMON RINDS, AND A WHOLE LOT OF SALT…..DAMNIT, ARE YOU A WITCH?”

I chuckle, “You caught on faster than the thing in the basement.  Took it years to figure out why I said hi to it every time I went down to do laundry.  You’re welcome to stay, but I need to finish this spell and I would like my ring back.”

“WHAT WILL YOU GI…” The drain thing starts to ask again, before I cut if off.

“Dude I’ve been feeding you, and I just offered you a place in my home.  Give me back my ring.”  I hold my hand out palm flat, waiting.

“FINE.”  And with that my ring shoots out of the drain to land neatly on my palm.

“Thank you.” I say as I head back to my work table, slipping the ring back on my finger.

“DO YOU HAVE ANY MORE OF THOSE LEMON RIDS?” my new house mate asks.  “THEY WERE TASTY.”

“I’ll have a few more in a little bit, be patient.”

Perfect. I want the rest of this story.

Heyo spirit workers!

Hey hey spirit workers out there, anyone know any underground species of spirit that are very large length wise and lanky with long limbs and huge teethless mouths? I ask because I’ve had a spirit hanging around me for some time who loves my fans and dark room and communication has been difficult. I am just curious if anyone may know what he is so I can research more! If not all good, if so feel free to IM me ^0^

Hi, I’ve been doing witchcraft for quite a while and ever since I started, I’ve always felt really drained afterwards. Since around the end of last summer, I’ve been constantly drained (not witchcraft related, I don’t necessarily know why) and all I’ve been able to do are a few low energy spells. Recently, I have a ton of motivation and mental energy and all I want to do is spells, energy work, etc but physically I still feel exhausted. Do you have any tips?❤️

First I would rule out any possible physical ailments you may have, trust me a lot of witches feel drained due to health. If you are in good health then there are other possibilities.

It could be because you use far too much energy on the tasks you do, you get ‘over excited’ with it. That would mean you need to practice your grounding and centering. This will help you control the amount of energy you use on each task so you don’t spend it all at once if that makes sense. Another possibility is energy vampires, don’t take this as being something literally snagged to you (it can happen but i could be other things too). these would include spirits in the area, objects that may drain you of energy (some people are sensitive to generators and power grids), electromagnetic fields, other people (ones who either drain energy without realizing or they have super negative energy about them) or other such factors.

Keep your eyes out for my new stuff!

I am going to be posting I guess 3 new ‘series’? I don’t have a better name for them, of posts.

  • ON A BUDGET: posts about doing certain types of magic on a limited budget
  • STUCK IN THE CITY: posts for urban witches who are trying to get back to their natural roots but are in a more difficult position to do so
  • LESSER KNOWN MAGICK: general posts about magicks and witches that aren’t as commonly spoken about on here

Consider them hopefully new regulars to join around my posts of “Tools Of” series and “Crystals For” series 🙂

Spirit House Rules

image

What are Spirit House Rules?

Simply put these are rules you put in place as a witch and spirit worker that all spirits working with you and residing around you are expected to follow and obey out of respect. They are like a contract that you have displayed out in the open for spirits to see. It is like posting the rules to the pool up for swimmers to look at, disobeying those rules may get you kicked from the pool and the same goes for your space and your House Rules. Spirits who disobey them are at risk of being asked to leave by you or other occupants of the house or even banished if need be.

Why have House Rules?

House Rules exist to protect you and other occupants of the home safe and make it clear to any spirit guests what is absolutely not allowed. Think of them as the first step of warding out those who you don’t want around, sure it may not deter spirits who are seeking to cause you trouble or harm but it can keep away those who you may just not get along with (though let it be noted House Rules are not a replacement for wards).

House Rules are a polite but authoritative way to make it clear your values as well. It is a good way to indirectly tell spirits in the area what you are comfortable with and what you are not comfortable with. This can help prevent poor communication between you and your guests or even companions. You may use these rules to mark what areas of the house spirits are allowed to flock and where they are not welcomed, your personal ‘codes’ on behavior, who they may and may not interact with, who they may or may not take/borrow energy from etc.

What are some common House Rules?

There are quite a few common house rules that many witches or spirit workers have (of course not all have the same house rules) which are good ones to look at and take into consideration while making your own:

  • Where a spirit may NOT go (bathroom, personal bedroom, safe space, etc)
  • Who a spirit may NOT interact with (children, pets, roommate, grandparent, parent, etc)
  • Whether the spirit is allowed to touch you and/or others and the specific guidelines on this
  • If the spirit is or is not allowed to use your energy
  • Whether sexual advances are welcome or not
  • Things a spirit is NOT permitted to do (scare individuals, loom over others, harass pets, move or knock over things, etc)
  • How a spirit may interact with you and how they may NOT
  • Your needs and expectations (such as you come first with things, the spirit does not)

What are my House Rules?

As a good reference to some of you I thought it would be nice to post what my personal House Rules are currently. Note that they are sometimes flexible depending on what spirit I am working with.

WILLOW’S HOUSE RULES FOR SPIRITS AND COMPANIONS

  • You are NOT permitted into the bathroom without direct invitation
  • You are only allowed onto the bed without invitation
  • You are NOT allowed in (roommate’s name)’s or (sister)’s rooms/on their beds at all
  • You may interact with pet but only if it is positive interaction, harassing or scaring my pet on purpose is grounds for banishment
  • You may NEVER harm me, my pets or roommates, this will be taken extremely seriously
  • You may not touch or attempt sexual things (flirting, touching, seduction) to roommate or sister
  • You may only touch/flirt with me per spoken permission and on very specific grounds
  • NEVER make sexual touches or advances to me without FULL SPOKEN PERMISSION
  • ANY sort of racial slurs, sexual slurs, homophobic/biphobic/acephobic, or sexist behavior will be immediate grounds for banishment
  • You may not interact with anything burning (candles, incense, paper, etc) without spoken permission due to fire safety
  • When I or another is sleeping, unless it is an emergency, please do not disturb
  • Guests in house are to be left alone unless otherwise told via me AND the guest
  • No fighting, territorial disputes or hunting of others inside or around my home this is to be done elsewhere unless otherwise stated by me or in terms of emergency, self defense, etc
  • No making threats or insults to each other or other spirits unless otherwise told
  • Sarcasm is always welcome, but to be funny not to be mean or a bully
  • I am willing to allow you to feed off of my energy but you MUST ask first
  • Do NOT drain my energy when I am sleeping, ill or on my period unless I otherwise permit it due to these times being when even I am low on energy or uncomfortable sharing
  • I will ALWAYS put my health and comfort first, this is my home and so my rules, I will not accept abuse from any spirit towards me or any attempts at making my home life miserable or uncomfortable, you will banished without question
  • If you invite other spirits over be sure they too read and agree to these rules

All who do not obey these rules may and can be asked to leave or banished from my home!

How do I come up with my own House Rules?

Well start with what makes you uncomfortable, things that you don’t want them doing such as touching you or invading private spaces. Take into consideration those you live with and what they would want, most roommates wouldn’t want strangers in their rooms right? So take that into consideration. If you have pets or children, take their safety and needs into consideration as well. Make sure you put your mental and physical health first in all cases. It is your home, so therefore they need to follow your rules. Them being there does not make them the boss, you are the boss.

How to post House Rules for spirits?

There are several ways, I personally post a few printed or written up copies around my personal spaces such as on my bedroom door, near my window, on my wall, in the stairwell and near the front door inside. Posting it nice and big in places for them to see is always a good way, similar to posting signs and rules in public spaces.

Another method is to write it up and burn it to ash and keep the ash in jars or containers near entry points of your property such as windows and doors. Some also bury the notices around their property either whole, folded or as ash so that entering spirits may sense them. Putting up astral rules via energy work onto your wards similar to giant signs placed onto walls is also an option. Really, choose whatever is convenient for you.

In Conclusion

Keeping House Rules for when you work with spirits or invite them into your home is a good way to ensure there is no miscommunication about Do’s and Don’ts in your home. It’s a good start to your own personal protection and the protection of others in your home. Keeping House Rules posted is very important so that all passing spirits can see it. Make sure to make it clear that all that break them will not be taken lightly and will not be welcomed back to your home.

Purugly’s Spell for Intimidation and Protection (Pokemon Inspired)

“It binds its body with its tails to make itself look bigger. If it locks eyes, it will glare ceaselessly.” -Pokedex Entry

A glamour spell to protect oneself from threats and danger by making oneself appear intimidating and not worth it to approach.

You Will Need:

  • Garnet
  • Cinnamon Incense
  • Black Salt
  • Black or dark colored nail polish

Preparation:

Cleanse yourself and your area and if needed ground your energy. Set up a nice clear space where you can safely do your spell without worry of spilling anything or burning yourself with the incense. Make sure you are comfortable as well where you are practicing, do not wear long flowing sleeves to prevent fire dangers. Place your incense inside of a proper holder and your black salt around it in a circle. Take your garnet(s) and place them before you, if you are using chips or more than one then place them as it feels right for you. If desired you may play music that makes you feel powerful, focused and/or pumped up, heavy drum sounds or thunderstorm sounds can also help.

Steps:

  • Once you are set up light your incense and allow its smoke to burn throughout the spell
  • Open your nail polish as you begin the spoken part of the spell

“I am not one to mess with, I am not one to toy with, I am one to respect and fear. If you cross me and try to dominate, I will stop you with my leer. My eyes and nails are black as shadows, my heart is beating and strong. You shall not harm me, you shall not scare me, you shall respect me all day/night long.”

  • As you are saying this (or your own version of it) paint your nails of your hand. Once done with the chant and nail painting blow upon them focusing on your intent to appear intimidating like a great shadowy feline to those who try to approach you. Wave your nails a few times in the smoke of the incense.
  • Repeat process above on second hand.
  • Once both hands are painted end the spell as you see fit and rest, you deserve it.

  • Connect with any deities of the ocean/sea (for me that includes Amphitrite, Poseidon and Ceto).
  • Make/wear seashell or pearl jewelry.
  • Listen to music that makes you feel like you’re standing in front of the ocean.
  • When it’s windy or downpour rain, allow it to take you to the sea. Feel the raw energy. Open the window a crack if you can!
  • This is a great resource for some sea witching ideas!

Other bedridden witch posts:

how do i explain being a witch and witch craft to people who are scared or confused by it? :/

Start with the basics dear, explain to them witchcraft is a very broad term that covers over all sorts of cultures modern and historic, different religions and that there are several different ways to do witchcraft. There is not just ‘one style’.

Explain to them the basis of most witchcraft: the desire to use one’s own energy and the energy of other things to make change. That is what it is, it is simply using ones own mind, energy and emotions to help change how things are or are going to be.

Explain your style of witchcraft to them and what you do. If they are afraid of it due to religious standpoint, inform them that there are witches of every religion, from Christian Witches to Agnostic Witches to Pagan Witches to Buddist Witches to Muslim Witches etc etc. Some witches may work with demons or use animal parts depending on their practice but that is their wish to do so. Explain why you yourself went to witchcraft, why it is something important to you and how it makes you feel when they deject you for it without giving you a chance to explain.

Dear White People,

THIS is how you ally. THIS is how you use your privilege to help us. THIS is how you earn our respect. The White college students in Cape Town, South Africa knew the police would not shoot or harm them so they created a human shield to protect the Black protestors. I’m crying. I’m crying.

BOOST THE SHIT OUT OF THIS!!!!

Yo I’m fuckin crying

When you have privilege and others don’t, you use that privilege to help others. You don’t just stand there and watch the less fortunate suffer.

Privilege ain’t shit if you can’t do anything good with it.

Sick Tiger Cub Gets Rescued From Circus, Makes Incredible Recovery And Finds Love

SHES BLEPPING IN THE LAST PHOTO HELP ME

Since so many “tiger rescues” aren’t really rescues at all, I did some googling on this one.

Good news: This is a legit rescue, carried out by Tigers in America. This organisation rescues tigers from horrible situations like this.

If you’re an animal conservationist looking for an organisation to support, Tigers in America is worth looking into.

Authors to avoid (due to misinformation, historical inaccuracies, poor research, potentially harmful advice, and/or failure to cite sources):

  • DJ Conway
  • Edain McCoy
  • Ann Moura
  • Ralph Blum (runes)
  • approach Llewellyn-published books with caution — there are some great ones, but many aren’t well researched and may contain misinformation.
  • if all else fails, Google the author and ask around to see what people have to say about them – many bad authors have entire pages or discussions dedicated on why to avoid them!
  • always fact check information (especially if it involves ingesting anything or putting anything on the skin — just because an ingredient is natural does not mean it isn’t harmful/toxic)
