like i’ll talk about my interest in history and i’ll have guys be like “yeah i’m a history buff too i love world war 1 and 2″ like cool i was talking about ancient history. like the conversation was literally about ancient egypt.
my fave thing is replying “oh, cool. i just can’t get into it. i like everyday life and religion and art. personally, i find war boring.” and let me tell you it’s a journey to watch them try and understand that killing thousands of people indiscriminately doesn’t hold my attention.
yup it’s always the “oh you’re just not into history” and the response of “yes i am im just into ancient history” and you’re ready to throw 38 greek myths at them just to shut them up about the kinds of bombers the britsh were using in the second world war
except like. they really dont give a single fuck about wwi/ii. they care about the weapons and machinery. do they care about the events and the people? do they care about why wars were actually important? in my experience, very, very rarely.
I think that gets to heart of it: they’re not history buffs in any real sense. What they are is war fanboys. They collect and curate technical information about wars just like any other fanboy collects and curates technical information about the subject of their fandom. It’s basically not real to them; knowing what exact metal the buttons of SS uniforms were made of is of no greater significance to them than knowing the exact height of the captain’s chair on the starship Enterprise – it’s just another shiny technical fact for their collection.
It’s incredibly annoying because WW1 and WW2 are actually really interesting in terms of how politics changed and the like but all people want to talk about is the fighting.

Years ago, my twin brother got into a relationship with a woman. She was sweet, kind, and seemed supportive. The exact kinda relationship you want to see a family member get into. But little by little, day by day, my brother started talking and hanging out with me. At first I thought it was something I did, maybe I said something wrong. But no, this bitch told my brother to stop spending with any female woman he knows, including family. Of course, warning bells go off in my head, but I chose to ignore them. Like you, I was close minded at one point and believed that men couldn’t be abused. I will regret this decision for the rest of my life.
The violence soon began after she trapped him. Yes I use the word trap, because that’s basically what happened. She didn’t let him out of the house because she “loved” him and was scared he would leave her. He wasn’t allowed to go to parties because he might cheat on her. He was alone with this woman, who even controlled how long he spent online and where he went. (She used parent controls.)
The violence began as minor stuff, pushing him or “accidentally” stepping on his feet or hands. But like most domestic violence cases, it just got worst. The big one first happened when she slapped him across the face after he refused to not come to our dad’s birthday celebration. She “apologized” and then said that she wouldn’t do that if he would just listen to her.
He tried, oh gods above did my brother try to keep her happy. It was no longer about because he loved her, but he was scared that she would hurt him or destroy something precious to him. She started misgendering him (my brother transitioned from FtM), insulting him, making fun of his likes and hobbies. She would destroy his photos or personal belongings like clothes.
One day, enough was enough, and after she took paused from punching him during an argument, he pushed her hard enough that she fell to the floor, and he ran to the bathroom to call me to come and help him. At this point, I did basic research about domestic violence against men (something you obviously haven’t OP) and knew something horrible was going on. I quickly drove over to their house, not home… never home, and picked him up as she was screaming on the porch to have him arrested for “hurting” her.
Just a few hours later, after cleaning himself up and me bandaging any wounds on him, the police showed up to our house. Our first though, as Native Hawaiians, was “oh fuck.” So after hearing his side of the story, you know what this PO did? He arrested my brother! On the charges of domestic violence. For you ask? Pushing her. Yeah, that thing my brother did in self defense? Got him arrested.
He soon got released on flimsy charges, and this bitch tried to get together with him again. Not making the same mistake twice, we got him to place a restraining order against her. The police wouldn’t do shit, so he had to get a restraining order.
And after all of this, my brother still doubts that he went through domestic violence, because people like OP exist who believe that women are fragile and weak against the strong and unbreakable men. And let’s just forget about same sex relationships, even though there is a same sex domestic violence epidemic happening.
Ignoring this idiotic, sexist OP for a second. I beg anyone reading this, if you or a love one is going through domestic abuse, or believe you are, I beg you, as someone who made the mistake of not taking action for so long, to not make the same mistake I did. It doesn’t matter if you are a man, woman, or nonbinary. Nobody deserves to go through such a difficult situation, much less to feel like nobody is one their side. (Like OP.) So, this chapter showed that Bum’s delusions/hallucinations (or fantasy/daydream) sometimes appear clearer than the other panels.
Bum starts off in the doorway, Sangwoo across the room.
Now, Bum is close enough that he simply reached his hand out and is able to touch Sangwoo. The white overlay isn’t as prominent in the next three panels.
Sangwoo suddenly speaks and Bum looks surprised and confused and notice…
He’s still in the doorway. Exactly where he was before.
I have to go back and check other chapters but it looks like before we see something only happening in Bum’s mind the panels showing what actually is happening get more hazy.
So bum actually didn’t stroke sangwoo’s hair and sangwoo didn’t lean to his touch like how cats do?

Like seriously I would like to know if people are either having issues too or if they know a solution. I already restarted my router and ps4 several times. It works for like 3 minutes then I get the 33991-5 error again. Firmware of the router is correct and updated. I can’t try direct Lan cable because my roommate is using the only one (ex roommate stole my 25ft one). I updated the information on the ps4 with the new passwords and wifi name. Set everything to default. I even tried the DNS 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 and that did nothing. Only thing that ‘works’ is hard router restart but like I said it works 2 or 3 minutes then it stops working. I can maybe get to the hulu app or to youtube before it shuts me out.
