How can I believe in Fae but not believe in gods or emoji spells or dragons or non-human spirits or astral pregnancy/birth or otherkin or selling spirits? Because none of those ideas make sense to me. I can’t emotionally and intellectually support them. I have sensed Fae and continue gathering information on them and feel in my heart that they are on one of the other planes of existence that softly overlap ours.

Why am I telling you this? Because I’ve run this blog for quite some time and have never once been disrespectful or invalidating to a single person who does support and believe in things that I do not. I’m letting you know that it is completely possible to stay in your lane and be an active Witchblr member without causing trouble. (If you feel you would like to discuss any of these things with me, I will freely accept asks and messages from you guys)

Fearing Death – A Guide for Aspiring Death Workers and Witches

Many people- in fact, most people- fear death. There is something about the uncertainty of it that strikes us and makes a certain panic simmer within our minds. This is my guide to feeling more comfortable with the thought of death, in a healthy way. It may not work for you, but it has for me, so I am sharing in case it will touch someone else, too.

I Don’t Want to Waste My Life

Our natural tendencies to procrastinate fuel our fear, until we are no longer fearing death itself, but the idea of living an incomplete and wasted life. This is extremely unhealthy, in my opinion, because it can lead to stress and anxiety over how much we do, our productivity, and our success in comparison to those around us.

I am here to tell you that your life is never wasted. This helped me overcome my fear of death, because I learned to be glad to live in general, and to exist in harmony with the rest of the creatures and plants on Earth. I am part of an indefinite cycle of life and death, and supply a part in this world and its population.

Thunderstorms make me happy, especially on the days when I can lay in bed and watch horror films. Add a cup of passion tea to my bedside table and I couldn’t be more content. Some would say this is a waste of time, but to me it is not. I enjoy these kinds of things, and sometimes this act of selfcare is all I can muster. My happiness is what matters to me, and helping others along their own path towards it. My life is not wasted, even if all I ever do is make someone smile.

I Don’t Know What Comes Next

Who does? I don’t, at least not officially. Priests don’t know, atheists don’t know, polytheists don’t know… But we may. We may know eventually, if we have any sort of consciousness after death (which I heartily believe in). And I have to remember that I don’t need to know the answer to this mystery yet. I have drifted across so many theories and religions trying to decipher it. But I can’t. And this acceptance is the basis of reclaiming the hold on your fear of death. When you accept death, you can let it go and coexist with it all around you.

Don’t focus on what you don’t know. Focus on what you do, or what you believe to be true. Do you communicate with the dead? Then you may believe they are the passed souls of Earth, and that there is an afterlife of some kind. Do you see the spirits of humans? Then you may believe that they have some sort of form in death.

I Am Afraid of the Pain of Dying

I am, too, sometimes. But then I remember that there are more people that have died than there are people living on this Earth. Death is often seen as quick, fleeting, and immediate in some cases. Of course, it is also seen as drawn out, violent, and painful. My solace when I think of the latter is that it is an experience, and if I do have to feel it, it will just be a brief period of this life that I have to accept and release. Radical acceptance is a coping mechanism my therapist taught me about. It had helped me immensely with this journey into forgiving death for all they have taken from me, and thanking them for bringing peace and rest when it is needed. I also learned to appreciate it as much as life.

These are my tips, I hope they help.

Reminder for those who don’t know, this-isn’t-magic is a blog where a bunch of people are mocking other witches here on tumblr. Some of it is mocking people for modern or pop culture magic, other times its taking obvious jokes as ‘serious’. Currently they have mocked several blogs I am dear friends with. Don’t harass them just block them.

do you have any suggestions for combining knot craft and storm craft? i’m interested and connected to both but i don’t know how to combine them since i’m new to all of this haha.

sorceressofstarlitforest:

  1. A storm bracelet. Use thread and charms representing the type of storm you want involved in your spell. (Example: Blue and white threads with snowflake charms for making good memories and protection in the winter.)
  2. Seal a cord with mud to hold in power. Wash away the mud to release the power.
  3. Visualize storms while doing knot work.
  4. Incorporate storm imagery into a charm for cord magic. (Example: By knot of one, the storm’s begun. By knot of two, rain protects me and you. By knot of three, lightning I see. By knot of four, thunder is at the door. By knot of five, we feel alive. By knot of six, we build with fallen sticks. By knot of seven, the storm becomes our weapon.)
  5. Combine images of storms and sigils in embroidery.
  6. Crochet using the storm clouds pattern.

I’m NEVER going to get tired of watching Russians interact with wildlife

Some random tech history stuff I adore in relation to my post from last night:

  • 1970s televisionphone which was used to send video messages back in 1970
  • The fact touchscreens have been around since the 60s just never really shot off until the late 90s
  • Just all 1800s Automatons though one of my favorites being “The Writer”
  • 1980s smart home technology, it worked surprisingly well just never took off
  • Tv-Computers, huge and ridiculous but I love them none the less

I’ve been thinking about creating a “curse Locker” of sorts, and want to know if I am on the right track? Or if it even works how I am thinking? I’ve worked a few negative spells, and came up with the idea to keep them all in a small box, with other items to help charge or give extra oomph to the taglocks. Such as graveyard dirt? But I’m wondering if that will work how my intent is, or if its a nonsense idea.

Sorry this took so long dear!! I didn’t see this in my inbox 😦

I think it is a good idea! Just make sure to cleanse and maintain it regularly!!

Hey Help I need something like a love spell… Well I know it’s not possible to make someone fall in love through a potion or a spell.. but maybe something to bring up the energies.. or to make that someone just think about you.. b/c the thing is that there is some kind of connection I just think there has to be a little push so my person will develop real interest…

I’m sorry I do not support using love spells in that manner. All the love spells I write and support are consensual as in both parties are in agreement to use them and they are for strengthening existing love, passion and self love. Forcing someone to think about you or have feelings for you is in my opinion is immoral and I do not support it.

Me: I wish I had more people to nerd with

Friend: oh yeah I nerd, lol what do you like to nerd about?

Me: 70s to 90s technology, fashion history from before the 1900s, historical lost books and information, diseases that mysteriously showed up then vanished and no one knows why, automatons that have never been recreated, ciphers people can’t decode, and lost technologies that are starting to reappear today like voice activation

Sparklers + Witchcraft

themixedwitch:

  • Sparklers can be used for happiness and a boost of positivity.
  • They can be used for any spells relating to youth or childhood.
  • Sparklers have a wondrous, hypnotic feeling. They can be used in spells and glamours to attract admiration or attention.
  • Surprisingly, I have found that they are excellent in banishing as well. I had some unwanted guests in my home, so I rubbed a sparkler with Flying Devil Oil (not necessarily recommended) and lit it. They left within minutes!
  • Finally, sparklers add a bit of energy to any spell!

Strength and Luck Bath Spell

  • Gladiolus blossoms (if you have sensitive skin, the stocks of gladioli could be bothersome, but petals are usually no issue aside from florist chemicals, be mindful of where your flowers are coming from)
  • Black tea
  • Lemon lavender tea
  • Epsom salt
  • Full moon water (I used full moon in Aries water, collected Oct. 5, 2017)
  • Frankincense incense

While pouring the moon water over me, I chanted,

“Full Moon of Aries, Strength wash over me and retreat, my Anxiety.”

I heavily sweated out a lot of toxins and came out feeling rejuvenated and with high spirits.

So there’s a mean spirited blog going around called this-isn’t-magic and they’re posting screenshots of posts that they think are silly or dumb and posting them. It’s not up to any one person to decide if your craft is illegitimate or not, try to disregard it. I just wanted to post about it because I know many of us are hard on ourselves as it is, and seeing something like this can really ruin someone’s day.

I just checked this out and it’s just this person or people making a mockery of modern witchcraft and anything that doesn’t fit their views. It’s extremely rude.

I’m glad I haven’t gotten on their radar yet, but @orriculum and one of my dear friends has already been mocked on this blog.

– Aesa ❤

Lots of really nice people are being made fun of for no reason, and they have made fun of several things that aren’t Eurocentric practices

Block and move on. If anyone reblog from them on my dash it’s grounds for a block. These are literally the exact gate keeping racist ass holes that make me so mad. Literally if you exist to shit all over others, fuck you. Reblogging is endorsing their fucking shitty useless existence, so just don’t.

They like to mock spirit work it seems such as the idea of non human spirits from what I have seen. Lots of self positivity and spoonie witch posts on there that they are making fun. They’re claiming they arent’ meaning to make fun of people but honestly, their blog is just full of negativity and seems especially targeted and new or spoonie witches. Don’t follow them, block and move on. I already did that, I have no time for bullies. I have seen several friends of mine being mocked and blogs I really respect ( @thymewitch and @orriculum are two of them) and they seem to insinuate towards mocking others (and possibly myself) such as anyone who uses glitter jars in magick. Don’t follow them, block them and ignore, they are a bunch of bullies. If they mock you, block them, they aren’t worth your time to argue back.

Spell to give some protection to a loved one.

brujitamae:

image

(Gif not mine, ya’ll.)

“Here, put this on. It will protect you. It’s made from the threads your friends wove together.”

I’ve seen some Miyazaki/Studio Ghibli spells but not anything for this, so I took a crack at it. This spell is based on the scene where Zeniba, No Face, Bo, and Yubaba’s bird make Chihiro a new hair tie. But instead of a hair tie, you’re gonna be making a bracelet.

What you need:

  • Purple thread* and 4 or 5 other colored threads that match (or dont) purple.
  • Beads and charms (optional)
  • Picture of your loved one
  • Candle (tea light works)

*I say purple because in the movie, it’s a purple hair tie and some sources cite purple as being used to drive away evil and negative energy. But you can change it to any colors you want!

What you’re gonna do:

  1. Gather up all your supplies and sit somewhere comfortable.
  2. Light the candle (any color, but if you’ve got a color candle that you use for protection, go ahead and use that one) and place the picture next to the candle and gather up some energy with the intent of protecting this person.
  3. Start making your friendship bracelet. Here’s a tutorial for a traditional friendship bracelet (link). This is one for a twister bracelet (link), this is one for a square knotted bracelet (link), this is for a Chevron bracelet (link). Choose whichever tickles your fancy and start braiding. While you braid the threads, think about your loved one and protecting them. Let every braid carry that protective and loving energy.
  4. Add a bead/charm, or a few, in there if you’d like. Let every bead you add heighten that protection.
  5. When you’re finishing it and knotting it up, use the knots to fasten the protection into the bracelet.
  6. Blow/snuff your candle off or let it burn all the way down.

And you’re done! Give it to your loved one and preferably, be the one to tie it on them!

Drink Your Sorrows Tea

faeriecherrie:

This is a blend for those days where you feel like crying or have all those negative emotions bottled. This tea will help release everything you’ve been feeling.

INGREDIENTS;

  • 1 tsp Lemon Balm
  • 1 tsp Lavender
  • ½

    tsp Rosemary

  • ¼

    tsp Thyme

  • 1 Rose Petal

Boil water, then let the herbs steep for 7-10 minutes. Add honey or sugar to sweeten.

After you’re done making the tea go sit onto your bed or your comfy place where it’s nice and quiet. Take a sip of the tea and the let those negative emotions go.

Anxiety Reduction Crystal Elixir

celestictarot:

What you will need:

– A jar

– Moon Water

– Amethyst

– Clear Quartz

– Rose Quartz

– Citrine (optional)

Hi guys 🙂 As some of you may know I have an anxiety disorder.  While I advocate for professional treatment (if your budget allows it), I also love the idea of using witchcraft in addition to other methods for helping myself cope!

*Please note witchcraft is never a substitute for professional medical treatment or advice of any kind. *

So onto the elixir!

I came up with this when thinking about my own anxiety.  I used waxing crescent moon water to help myself with personal growth.  Here’s the ‘recipe’!

1. Place your moon water into a jar (I used one I got from Dave and Busters, any jar will work!).  The moon water I used for this recipe was fro a waxing crescent.

2. Add in the rose quartz (for self love), clear quartz (the master healer) and amethyst (for fighting anxiety).  In addition to this you may also add in citrine (for happiness and positivity).  Please note that before you ever make any sort of crystal elixir to look up the solubility of your crystals and minerals in water.  Some may become damaged, others can be toxic!  This specific elixir is meant to go on the skin, not to be ingested.

3. Very lightly, swirl the water with your fingertip and repeat “my anxiety cannot bring me down”.

4. When you feel anxious, dab a little water on your forehead to ward off the unhappy and unwanted thoughts.

I hope this helps some people ❤ I had a lot of fun creating this, and would love some critiques as it is my first time making one of these 🙂 Best wishes to everyone!

@lunamoonuh you know…magick…and witchcraft….was once a new “thing” just like tech magick. You know….people have learned about the craft even though they don’t have family in it for years…I’m one of those people…there are loads of us like that…just cause you don’t come from a family of witches and magick, or you’re not born with it (even though I feel like that’s not true to an extent, but I digress) doesn’t mean your not a witch.

Just cause it’s new does not mean it’s shit. And I’d rather have someone try something and know they don’t like it than never do it and talk shit about it like they know everything. Kinda like what you’re doing now. Anger and elitism do not work on the skin. Watch who you shoot your daggers at, love.

get the fuck away from me spell

spellcraftbaby:

this is a basic and powerful banishment spell to keep a toxic, malicious person from influencing you, affecting your world, and attempting to hurt you. best done during a waning moon. you will need:

> black pepper (banishment, protection from evil)

> cloves (banishing hostile and negative forces)

> vinegar (banishing, binding, and averting evil)

> black and white candle

> paper and pen with black ink

> a jar with a lid

1. as you light your candles, recognize that the flame creates an aura of fire, will and strength. the black candle burns and summons protection from evil; the white candle burns and brings you cleansing and purifying. meditate on the flames and allow their warm auras to surround you.

2. write the person’s full name (if it’s known) on a small piece of paper. hold the paper in your hands and let yourself feel angry, hurt, sad, or whatever this person makes you feel. charge the paper with the pain this person has caused you, until you feel done. then, take your pen and scribble out the person’s name until it’s completely blacked out and opaque.

3. fold the paper up as many times as you can, and throw it in the jar. sprinkle the pepper and cloves over the paper, then fill the jar with vinegar. this mixture banishes their evil from you and drowns out their will and power to harm you. close the jar tightly. if you wish, use some black wax from your candle to drip onto the lid and seal the jar shut.

4. place your banishment jar in a dark, hidden place, like the bottom drawer of a dresser or the corner of a closet. keep it forever, or until you feel its purpose is fulfilled.

Was It A Sign?

will-o-the-witch:

Well, maybe. Maybe not. Here are some little things that may help you figure out if it was really a grand message or not! The more of these you have, the more likely it is.

🦉It’s unusual. Let’s say you saw a deer. Sweet! That’s cool, but if you live in a wooded area and deer are really common, it’s really not that profound. It could be a message, or it could just be a deer.

🦉You asked for a sign. If you asked the universe or a certain deity for a sign, perhaps this is the follow through! For this type of thing, it’s usually good to ask for something specific enough that you couldn’t expect it every day, but not so much that it’s impossible. (My go to is a rose or a purple feather.) That way, you know that X thing is your sign without worrying too hard about it!

🦉It felt… different. Maybe the event isn’t terribly wild on its own, but it just really hit you, or the feeling was incredibly profound. Especially after doing research, and seeing how many things are symbols, your brain will make connections really quickly. That means sometimes we make something out of nothing. A strong emotional response is a good sign of a sign.

🦉It immediately felt like a sign. Let’s say you see a rainbow, and it’s really pretty. You enjoy it for a few minutes then go back inside. Later, you think, “Hm, that could have been a sign.” Maybe. But it also could be your brain going hey, I know things associated with rainbows! (In my opinion, this is the most important one. I feel like if you have to wonder if it was a sign, it wasn’t a sign. You might not know what it’s a sign of, but you will know it’s a sign. That’s just my UPG, though.)

🦉Any post-research lines up. If you get a neat vision and run the details through Google, you may find details that line up with certain lore. Maybe you knew this before, maybe not. If you didn’t, and connections keep happening with surprising accuracy, it’s a pretty good indicator!

🦉Think of why you want it to be a sign, if you do. There’s a big narrative that everybody involved in magic, Paganism, etc. is constantly having these profound religious experiences. This simply isn’t true. There’s no shame in wanting a story to share, or to feel special, or to “fit in” by getting signs from the universe. Sometimes we want signs for the sake of receiving signs, so if you’re trying to manufacture them by pulling on every little thing, you’re distracting yourself from enjoying the world exactly how it is. Don’t worry about signs and enjoy yourself. Animals and rainbows and all that are still pretty great even if every little thing doesn’t have a personal meaning.

New Home Floorwash

This is recommended for a preliminary cleansing when moving into a new home. This removes old vibrations and emotions lingering from past residents and allows you to begin with a fresh slate.

  3. Cleanse floors and surfaces as needed.

“Ice Cage” MTG Inspired Spell

A binding spell to prevent someone from emotionally attacking you.

You Will Need:

  • Poppet
  • Freezer safe container
  • Water (preferably moon/new moon water)
  • Chamomile
  • Marker (preferably black)

Steps:

  1. Make and create your poppet in your preferred method (though I do recommend using paper or cloth poppets). Once you have made your poppet write on it the words “I freeze you” anywhere you desire using your marker and the target’s name or initials.
  2. Fill your freezable container with the water you will be using and add in the chamomile which should aid the spell in making the person’s aggressive nature weaker.
  3. Place your poppet of the target into the water and make sure its submerged.
  4. “I freeze you away, into a cage of ice, so you cannot target or make me weep, I freeze you away so safety I keep.”
  5. If you have a lid for the container place it on, and place the entire thing into the freezer. Leave it there for as long as you wish to bind the person

Unbinding: To unbind the person and cancel the spell simply remove from the freezer, place in the sun and state three times “I thaw you out, I free you” and leave it there (preferably on a towel to prevent a mess) until it is fully melted. Dispose of the water and poppet properly.

WHAT IS ROOT ROT? HOW CAN I TREAT IT?

diygabl:

What is Root Rot?

So my family arguessometimes and i want to either charge an object or find a crystal that would help for emotional protection. Any help?

thesigilwitch:

For crystals, I’d recommend amethyst [promotes calmness and tranquility], agate (blue lace) [more calming energies], fluorite [this tends to drain negativity from any situation and hold onto it], smokey quartz [removes negative energies], chalcedony [more negativity removal], citrine [calms and provides energy at the same time],

amazonite [stabilizes emotions], lapis lazuli [hardcore protective], turquoise [protects the home], onyx [protection], either red or brown tiger’s eye [more protection], or peridot [protection protection protection]

Here are some links to a ton of protection spells; obviously not all the spells could be applied or used directly to your situation, but

going through some of those should give you some ideas for protective symbolism for your specific thing. I’d say charge the item / crystal in a bowl of herbs associated with protection and pumped full with your desires and energies to be kept safe from all the drama.

Aphrodite’s sugar scrub spell

crybambi-posts:

image

This face scrub is my own concoction and works better then any store bought face mask. You can save it in the fridge for up to two weeks or make a smaller fresh batch every time you feel your skin needs that extra pickup.

Things you will need:

  • Small air tight jar (if keeping longer then one use) or bowel
  • Tumbled rose quartz crystal – Self love
  • Parsley – Sacred to Venus and Aphrodite. Brightens skin and fights bacteria.
  • Sugar – Drawing romance to you. Exfoliate agent.
  • Honey – Sweetens your appearance. Slows down ageing process.
  • Olive oil – Sacred to Aphrodite. Moisturizes skin.
  • Lemon juice – Purifies your spell and pairs well with love spells. Clarifies the skin.
  • Rose petals – Symbol of love. Soothes irritation.

Place rose petals into the bottom of your bowel or jar and set your rose quartz over top of them. Pour a small amount of each ingredient over the quartz, envisioning them pulling the self loving properties from the stone and into the scrub. Mix all ingredients together to form a thick paste.

Massage over the face avoiding eyes and wash with a warm cloth. Then enjoy your smooth exfoliated skin!

Note: Don’t forget to remove your quartz after and wash it thoroughly to be used again!

Wisconsin White Deer Surprised by his own Antlers Shedding

image

aw hell no

Deer, although graceful and lovely, are fucking morons.

Who among us isn’t surprised when a part of our head flies off

As a southerner raised by rednecks, I can confirm that deer are adorable morons.

I’ve seen deer:

1.) Run from their own baby after it sneezed

2.) Run from a turkey that was chasing another turkey

3.) Run into the only tree in the middle of a field

4.) Run from ITSELF after IT sneezed

5.) Run circles around my house because a Mockingbird was imitating the wheezing sound deer use to verbally communicate a sense of unease
