A path is the journey that someone takes as they practice witchcraft. Some use it to describe their past, present and future on their magickal journey. Others use it to represent what they would consider a “label” to themselves and their craft. In general a path in witchcraft is a word to describe that specific witch’s journey, views, experiences, focuses and future goals that surround their own personal magickal practice.
Everyone, absolutely everyone, has a different path because each person is an unique individual with unique interests, hobbies, views, practices and choices. This is why your path may vary so greatly from others around you, your friends and even your mentors/teachers. There is nothing wrong with this because it is your path, not their path.
How do I know what my Witch Type/Path is? Is there a test I can take?
No, there isn’t a test you take to determine what your path is or what type of witch you are. There is only one thing that determines that: you. You are the one who chooses your path and what you wish you focus on.
You don’t have to be any specific type of witch at all. You don’t have to be a storm witch or a green witch. You can be whatever you want. If you want a label and to focus your path onto one thing, then do it. If you want to be labeled as more than one thing, go for it. Do you just want to do whatever you want and have no labels? That’s perfectly fine too!
You decide what kind of witchcraft interests you by:
Researching: research every single thing you can find! Save your sources, read through articles, take notes and compare them to other articles, posts, blogs and writings on the same topic. Look at the differences but also examine who is writing: a person who is an atheist witch will have different views on the spirituality and morals of something compared to a Wiccan witch or a Christian witch. Examine who is writing the post, and take their views with a grain of salt and not as solid fact because everyone differs. If you agree with their views that’s great! If not, take it as something to consider. Research the scientific and medical relations of things as well, what I mean by this is each herb is a medicine and like medicine and drugs it has side effects, research it before ingesting it or using it. Research your crystals and stones to ensure you don’t ruin them or harm yourself with them. Science and witchcraft come hand in hand, remember that. It’s not fun sending yourself to the hospital because you overdosed on a herb you didn’t research well enough.
Cater to Yourself: By this I mean look at what you as a person enjoy doing: your hobbies, your likes, your dislikes, your talents, your interests, etc. Use these in your craft, take these and put them into your craft. Are you interested in art? Use art supplies, drawing, painting and sigils in your craft. Interested in singing? Sing your spells and incantations, use song lyrics for spells, sing to cleanse a space or attract things. Enjoy collecting stickers? Use stickers to seal spell jars and sachets, use them like sigils and stick them to things, buy stickers that relate to correspondences via color, shape, or imagery. You can use anything you want in your path. If you are passionate about gardening, then your path can bring in gardening and plants into it. If you are passionate about cooking definitely bring kitchen magick into your path. If you just love reading, bring literature, writing and spell books into your path. Bring in your interests, make your path full of things you love. Don’t force yourself to be the “dark mysterious witch” if that is not what interests you. Why bring in tea magick into your craft if you hate tea? Your path is meant for you to enjoy it, it is to cater to you. If you like pink, glitter, candy and soda then use that! Use those things, because they are important to you. That means they hold magick in them, because they are special to you. You will find more success in doing things you love and working with tools you associate with.
Follow Your Own Beliefs: This is a big one, some people in our community will try to push that you have to worship a certain religion or deity. You do not have to worship anything or anyone to practice witchcraft. You do not have to be part of any religion, all who tell you otherwise are gatekeeping. If you wish to be Wiccan then be Wiccan, if you wish to be Pagan then be Pagan, if you wish to be Christian then be Christian, if you don’t want to bring religion into your craft at all that’s fine too. It is your choice what your beliefs are, and don’t let others tell you that you are wrong but give that same courtesy to others. Others will likely have different views and beliefs than you and so you should also give them the same respect for their beliefs as you expect them to give you. If you do wish to work with a deity or religion, research it and look into what it is like to be apart of it. Ask others who worship this deity how they do and their bond with them, this can help you figure out your own way to worship.
Why can’t others just tell me how to find my Path? I don’t want to research.
Well, that isn’t how it works I am afraid. Other people don’t know what is important to you in your core, they don’t know what holds your interest or what holds your passion. They can’t just tell you everything about your path. They can give you advice based off of their own experiences however, but this is not the same as them being able to instruct you as to what to do.
Research is apart of witchcraft, that’s just a simple fact. Yes you can ask around to people what things may be or for help but think of it like this: People don’t like feeling like google. Asking someone what the correspondence of a crystal is can get quite annoying if you or just several others keep doing it when you can easily search the phrase: “Correspondence of ____ in witchcraft” and find exactly what you need or to simply search that user’s blog for that specific crystal. Research for yourself, it is your responsibility to do if you wish to use witchcraft. You walk your own path and that means you are responsible for your own lessons. People have out there tons of amazing resources that you can use.
Common Falsehoods, Lies, Red Flags and “Dishonest Truths” about Witchcraft/Paths:
“You have to be Wiccan/Pagan”: As spoken about up above, this not true. You can follow whatever religious practice or belief you desire or none at all.
Cursing is Bad!/Three Fold Rule”: This is another popular thing people will throw out at new witches to try to scare and shame them away from cursing, hexing and other acts of baneful magick. As a whole, this is a personal opinion. If you choose to curse that is your choice and others have no right to tell you that you’re a bad person for it. But, if you chose not to curse yourself, then that is your choice. Don’t drag others down or insult them for their choice.
“You can only be one type/kind of Witch”: No, you do not even have to label yourself as we talked about above. If you wish to label yourself as a “Sea Witch” or “Cosmic Witch” or “Green Witch” then do so. If you wish not to just focus on one thing then that’s perfectly fine! A lot of witches don’t label themselves as a ‘specific type’ of witch.
“You have to use crystals/herbs/tea/etc”: Nope, you are not required to use any specific ingredients, you don’t even have to use any ingredients at all if you don’t wish to. Use what you have hand and what you like. If you have a lot of candy, make candy spells; if you have a lot of crayons, make drawn and colored spells; if you have a surplus of toilet paper rolls, use those as poppets or for spell containers.
“You have to have companions/familiars”: Nope, you do not have to work with spirits or animals or anything like that if you don’t want to. Before you do get yourself a companion I recommend heavy research into spirit companions and make sure you have a way to communicate with them.
“Only women can be witches!”: Nope! Any gender, sexual orientation, race, etc can be a witch. If you practice magick and you want to be called a witch, guess what you’re a witch. If anyone tells you otherwise they are not worth your time.
“You have to be trained/in a coven to be a witch”: Nope! You can be self taught and you can work alone. Beware of toxic covens too, there are some out there who try to gender-shame and can be quite toxic in general. If you wish to be apart of a coven ensure that the rules of the group are ones you are okay with and that you aren’t pressured into behaving a certain way.
“You have to have “witch blood” if you want to be a strong witch”: huge lie right here; your bloodline and family history does not weaken or strengthen your magick. You don’t need to be from a long line of witches to be a witch, you don’t have to be “born a witch”.
“Tech Magick/Emoji Magick/Pop Culture Magick/Modern Magick is terrible and is ruining true magick!”:You will see this a lot on tumblr I am afraid. Lots of people trying to tell other witches that their paths/craft is not “true witchcraft” since it is not based on traditional witchcraft or religions. Don’t listen to them. If you want to practice modern magick and pop culture magick that is your choice and you are valid in every way!
“If you’re mentally ill/disabled/sick you can’t be a witch”: Spoonie witches exist and there are plenty of them! Just because you have found that you may not be as energized as other witches means absolutely nothing. You are valid, even if you use simple and basic magick due to low energy levels you are valid! You are still a witch.
“You can only be friends with/date other witches”: big red flag here! If anyone is telling you this, whether it is a mentor, teacher, friend or coven member/leader you need to find someone else fast. This is majorly toxic behavior used by some witches in this community to make you cut ties with others. It is an abusive manipulative tactic that you have to be aware of and avoid. You can be friends and date whoever you want (obviously within legal terms), whether they are a witch or not.
“True witches practice magick everyday”: Nope! You can take breaks! Especially when you have other things going on, you are tired or you just aren’t mentally/emotionally able to do witchcraft. That is perfectly fine. Take breaks, rest up, focus on other things – its okay. Take care of yourself. You aren’t being a ‘bad witch’ for taking breaks.
“Everything is related to the supernatural!”: No, the mundane is a thing. Not everything you see will be a mystical sign or message. Not everything that happens to you is because of spirits, curses, spells, etc. Rule out the mundane first such as medical problems or common sense/reasoning before you go leaping onto it being some great supernatural occurrence. Once the mundane is ruled out then you can consider other things.
“Magick is better for you than medicine/doctors!”: NO NO NO NO. Magick can aid in medical things if properly researched but never EVER substitute medical procedures, doctors or medicines for magick! Go and take care of yourself!
A spell to keep harmful words and rumors from affecting you.

You Will Need:
🎧 Paper
🎧 Black Marker
🎧 Fireplace, fire pit or somewhere safe to burn ingredients (preferably outside)
🎧 Dried Rosemary
🎧 Garlic
🎧 (Optional) Loud Music*
*please if you do play music, make sure it is at a respectful hour and not too loud to disturb any neighbors
Steps:
🎧 Using the marker write on all of the paper you have about the words people have been saying that upset you, why they upset you and your frustrations. Put your anger and hurt into this. Fill as many pages as you need
🎧 At your fireplace or fire pit set up and light a fire. Crumple up the papers into paper balls. “Your words no longer hold power, they mean nothing to me now, into the flames they go, I banish them away at this hour”
🎧 Through the paper balls into the fire one at a tip. Watch them burn and turn to ash, imagine it is your anger and emotional pain burning up, how it is leaving you
🎧 Once all paper is in the fire take your rosemary and garlic and toss it into the fire. Imagine as they burn they turn the flames white, purifying them, purifying you and opening you up to positivity. The smoke from these herbs acting like a protective veil, wrapping about you, guarding you from the painful words that may try to return.
🎧 End spell as you choose
Note: Please use proper fire precaution and safety during this spell. Do not cast it indoors if you do not have a large fireplace. Properly put out your fire once you have finished.
Here is a spread that I personally use when communicating with angels or sometimes Deities. For those who do spirit work or have guardians or guides of some kind, I’m sure this spread will also be useful to you.
1. Who is it? This one is simple enough, who is the angel or guide that you are communicating with? This card could represent a trait of them or characteristic, good or bad.
2. Why are they communicating with you? This is why this specific angel has come to you. What about you called to them? Do they have a connection or bond with you? Is it for a specific problem or is it more of a business sort of situation? Use this card to also help interpret the rest of the cards you receive, it may change the tone and voice of things.
3. What message or purpose do they have? What specifically do they have to tell you? Do they bring a warning? Or good news?
4. How is their message important to you specifically? Pretty straight forward I would think. Is it something that is currently affecting your life? Or is it something that could affect your future or your decisions?
5. How to take action? How can you take action with this message? Is it something you need to change? Is it something you need to stop? Is it something you need to do? Or should you just continue on doing what you already are doing?
6. Advice? Does this angel or guardian have any words of wisdom for you, specific to the message or perhaps not?
7. What they see or want for you? What outcome from their message and advice do they wish for you to get? What will their message lead to? The outcome of things.

This is my current list of love spells from tumblr as well as from my own digital grimoires. I will expand this as I write and update more!
Apple Cider Love Bringing Spell
A very easy potion for welcoming love into your life. This love can be self love, family love, romantic, etc.
You Will Need:
Apples or Apple Cores (fresh)
Water (Moon Water is recommended; I used half tap half moon)
Cinnamon
Sugar
Large pot with lid
Strainer of some kind
Jar with a lid
Steps:
Take your apples and peel off the skin or if you are using cores left over from apples you used for something else just make sure they are fresh. If you are using full apples cut them in half or fourths.
Place apples/cores into your pot of water. Turn your stove to medium-low and cover pot. Let it simmer for 20 minutes.
Lift lid carefully to avoid being burned by steam and add your sugar and cinnamon. Depending on the amount you are making the amounts will vary but I made about 2 jars full myself and added 2 tablespoons of sugar and 1 of cinnamon.
Cover again and leave to boil.
Occasionally check on your brew and stir it clockwise. If you are comfortable you may speak to it each time you stir of what sort of love you wish it to bring into your home. After stirring always recover.
Once apples and cores are soft turn off burner and leave it to sit for 10 minutes to cool a bit.
Carefully, using your strainer, pour it into the containers you wish to store it in. If you are not going to drink it all at once be sure to store it in the fridge. you may add sugar or honey to taste if you wish it to be sweeter.
Sit and enjoy your cup of hot cider and focus on how it warms your core and like a light attracting a moth, it will begin to attract love into your life.
To Dream of Romance Spell
A spell to bring on dreams about one’s love and help enlighten them on their love life and romantic divination.
You will Need:
Rose Quartz
Rose Petals
Bay Leaf
Pink or Red Marker/Pen
Sachet (preferably red or pink)
Preparation:
Before using this spell take a nice bath to cleanse yourself and drink some rose tea or rose water.
Steps:
In your sachet place your piece of rose quartz and rose petals.
On your bay leaf draw a heart using your marker/pen
“Tonight, I seek to dream of romance. Give me enlightenment on the love in my life.”
Kiss bay leaf and place it into sachet, tie it shut tightly.
Place beneath your pillow and go to bed
Suggestion: keep your dream journal nearby to write down whatever you dreamed about. Write every detail you can remember and every object. Then begin deciphering and analyzing what the dream could mean. Take notes.
Eye Catching Glamour Spell
A spell to catch the attention of that special someone.
You Will Need:
💝 Pink Eye Shadow 💝 Black Eyeliner (and brush if needed) 💝 Mascara 💝 Rose Quartz 💝 White Eye Glitter 💝 Rose Water 💝 Serpentine, garnet, rhodonite and/or sapphire 💝 Mirror 💝 Empress Tarot Card (or printed out image of one)
Steps:
💝 Set up your space. Place your Empress Tarot Card near you where you can view it easily, place your gemstone(s) before you and close though not in your way. Have your make up in reach and keep a bowl/cup of rose water to your right. Be sure you are in front of a mirror or have a mirror set up in front of you.
💝 Do your face make up as you would normally though leaving your eyes for last. While doing so feel the energies of the crystals and tarot card
💝 Peer into the mirror and start with your eyeliner. Apply it from inner corner outwards and leaving a small tail/wing (style of which is up to you though thin and long is recommended). Do bottom lid from inner corner and out as well. While doing this imagine how you are lining your eyes, drawing attention to them, how your eyeliner will pull in the eyes of the one you wish to catch the eye of. Visualize how they will draw in someone.
💝 Apply your pink eye shadow as you desire though as doing so focus on how the eye shadow is glowing with temptation and allure, like a light in the darkness it will demand attention to look at it
💝 Begin applying your mascara, stare into your own eyes as you do so, imagine them glowing and rings pulsing in them, tempting someone to peer into them. Visualize this strongly
💝 Take your eye glitter and lightly dab it about your eye lid, this is for the beauty element. How they enchant your eyes like glittering gems. Focus on the desire of wanting to appear beautiful for the person when you catch their eye
💝 Finish the spell by taking your dominate pointer finger and dipping into your rose water and lightly dabbing it under your eyes. Imagine this making the intense glow of your eyes pink and warm. Keep the image of your glowing beautiful eyes in your mind as you begin your day.
Siren’s Lipstick Spell
A spell to make one’s words more desirable to listen to and to capture the attention of listeners. Helps them hold onto your every word and especially good for flirting.
You Will Need:
Red Lipstick
A Mirror
Sugar
(Optional) Rose Quartz to place before you
Steps:
Wash your face and do your make up as you normally you would.
“My words are as sweet as sugar, they attract and lure like a song”
Take your sugar and place it onto your tongue and close your mouth. Let it dissolve away, as it does think about how you want your words to affect others.
“I will captivate.” Say this three times looking into the mirror
Take your red lipstick and paint your lips with it. Hum during this part a melody that you associate with beauty.
Rub your lips together and do a ‘mwah!’ to the mirror. “May my song begin!” And close the spell as you see fit such as blowing a kiss or winking at the mirror.
Other Notes: this spell can be enhanced by pairing it with perfumes that attract love and represent beauty such as rose perfume.
Charm (Pokemon Inspired Spell)
A spell to improve your charms and flirting skills.
You Will Need:
♡ Pink Candle
♡ Rose Petals (preferably pink or red)
♡ White Sugar
♡ Water in a bowl
Steps:
♡ Light your candle
♡ In your bowl of water mix in the sugar (not too much) and rose petals, stir it clockwise using your dominant hand’s pointer finger
♡ “Words sweet as sugar, Face as lovely as a rose, bring me the charms I seek.” Repeat as necessary
♡ take a handful of water and wash your face with it. Dab it dry then continue your usual morning routine
(if too much sugar was used and your face feels sticky your may use a damp towel to dab at it)
Mend the Heart Spell
A spell to start healing emotionally after rejection.
You Will Need:
💝 Rose Petals 💝 Warm Water 💝 A bowl 💝 2 White Candles 💝 Rose Quartz 💝 1 bag of Chamomile Tea 💝 Red Fabric 💝 Needle 💝 White Thread 💝Scissors
Preparation:
From your fabric cut out a heart and cut it down the middle so you have two halves. Thread your needle before beginning spell (just makes it easier).
Steps:
💝 Place your rose petals at the bottom of your bowl then add your rose quartz on top
💝 Carefully fill bowl with warm water then add your chamomile tea. Leave it near you to steep.
💝 Light both candles one to your left and one to your right in front of you. Let them burn during the rest of the spell.
💝 “My heart was broken, but it will heal, it will mend, it will seal.” While saying this take your two pieces of heart in either hand and place them down in front of you pressed together
💝 Take needle and thread and begin sewing it up the middle, repairing it. “It will heal, I will heal” repeat this mentally or verbally as you sew up the heart.
💝 Tie off the thread once done and cut it if needed so you have a mended heart. Move the bowl between the two candles before you.
💝 “I will be okay” and place your mended heart into the water and let it soak there over night. Blow out your candles but still leave them to either side of bowl for the night.
💝 Come morning take out your heart and place it in a window to dry (you may place it on a plate or paper towel to prevent it from getting things wet). After removing your rose quartz from the bowl, pour it down the drain or toilet. Imagine this action is pouring out the pain you felt from the rejecting.
💝 Once your heart has dried place it beneath your pillow. Keep it there until you feel you have finally gotten over the rejection then burn it to release the last of your pain.
“Kiss the Girl” Glamour Spell (Disney Inspired Spell)
A spell to encourage the person you like to kiss you (under their consent). Wonderful for dates~
You will Need:
Lip Gloss or lipstick (preferably red or a vibrant pink)
Rose Incense
Pink paper
Red Marker or Pen
Rose Water or Rose Quartz Gem Elixir
Mirror (preferably on the wall)
Steps:
Set up your area in front of the mirror you will be working with. Light your rose incense. Let it burn during the entirety of the spell.
Do your make up as you would normally though leave your lips for last.
Take your lip gloss or lipstick and hold it up and view it in the mirror. “Tonight will be the night, for me to meet your lips.” Uncap/open your lipstick/lip gloss and apply it to your lips. While doing this visualize drawing a heart on your lips in pink/red energy and it entering your lips and leaves them glowing, beckoning someone to partake.
“Tonight, I will be kissed by (name of date/person of desire).” On the paper write the person’s name. Kiss the paper to ensure you leave a kiss mark on the paper, imagine it glowing and fading into the name.
If needed touch up your lipstick again but be sure to still be visualizing them glowing in a beckoning manner
Place the piece of paper into a bowl of rose water/rose quartz water and leave it there for the duration of the date.
Before leaving wink at yourself in the mirror and blow a small kiss at it to close the spell and boost yourself with a bit more confidence. Also be sure your incense is out before you leave.
Note: this is to encourage a kiss, not force someone to. Please, don’t forcibly kiss anyone, that is not okay. This spell is to help set the mood and boost the likely hood of you both sharing a happy kiss.
Couple’s Bath Spell
A bath spell to be done with your lover to increase lust and sexual energies between you.
You Will Need:
½ cup of milk
2 drops Rose Essential Oil
2 drops vanilla extract
Rose Petals
Rosemary (may be loose or in a sachet)
Dried Raspberry Leaves (may be loose or in a sachet)
Rose Quartz
Garnet
Rhodonite
Red candles (you may add in white candles as well)
Apple Slices, red grapes or strawberries (if you can chocolate dip your fruit)
Steps:
Draw your bath, while it is filling begin lighting your candles and line your tub with your crystals.
Add to your bath your flower petals, herbs, milk, vanilla and oil
Carefully get into the tub together facing one another if you can.
Each take a piece of fruit and offer it to the other. After exchanging fruit continue your bath as you choose. Though it is important to feel the energies from the fruit, the candles, the bath and the crystals filling the room and combining with your own energies. Feel how your energy connects to that of your lover’s. Visualize them combining and heated like a flame.
Once done with your bath drain it and carefully step out. Be sure to blow out any candles still burning. It is best to let yourselves air dry.

Heart Stamp (Pokemon Inspired)
A spell to strengthen the passion and love between you and a consenting lover.
You Will Need:
💘 A heart stamp (if you don’t have one a marker will be fine) 💘 Red ink (or red marker) 💘 Rose Water 💘 Rosemary 💘 Red Candle
Steps:
💘 Light your red candle and put near both you and your partner but out of the way.
💘 sprinkle rosemary into your bowl or cup of rose water and together mix it with your fingers, don’t worry about it being perfect or on beat
💘 Then take the others hand and one at a time on their non-dominant hand rub your dampened fingers clockwise on the back of their hand.
💘 Blow on the others hand until it is dry
💘 Take your stamp and dip it in the ink (or use a marker to scribble on red ink to it) and one at a time stamp the person’s hand where the rose water had been applied with the stamp. “I stamp my heart on your sleeve” (if you have no stamp, you may draw a heart using the marker instead)
💘 End spell by blowing out the red candle together
Passion of a Rose Spell (Tuxedo Mask Inspired)
A spell between two consenting lovers to increase the passion between them.
You Will Need:
🌹 A Red Rose (fake will suffice) 🌹 2 Pieces of Rose Quartz 🌹 1 Red Candle
Steps:
🌹 cleanse your space and cleanse yourselves, set up an area where you and your lover can sit comfortably across from each other and space between you for your candle and other supplies. Make sure you both can comfortably reach each other’s dominate hands and at a good kissing distance, without having to lean over the candle (please place your candle to the side! I don’t want anyone burning themselves)
🌹 Once set up in your non-dominate hands, each of you hold a piece of rose quartz in it through the entirety of the spell. Place your rose between you both.
🌹 Light your red candle, again make sure during this spell you won’t have to lean over it or that you may knock it over with an elbow. Practice proper fire safety please. If you are on the floor put some wax paper under your candle to keep it from dripping onto the floor
🌹 Once the candle is lit, with your dominate hand, press your palm to the palm of your lover and lock fingers, look into each others eyes and one at a time speak the following: “I, (insert name), wish to express my passion for you (lover’s name), so I present my love to you with this rose, and my fiery passion for you with this candle.” The first person who says this picks up the rose upon the line mentioning the rose and holds it up between you both. When the second person says the line they reach over and hold onto the rose with the first person so that both of you should be holding the rose together by the end.
🌹 Once finishing these lines hold the rose up at about lip level give or take (depending on height distance) and say together in unison as best as you can. “And I call upon the flame of passion to strengthen between us, so that it burns brighter than before. I ask this rose, to to fuel the fire.” And lean forward together and both kiss the rose between you two gently
🌹 “May this fire continue to burn.” Then kiss each other to end the spell.
Note: If you can you may choose to burn the rose at the end of the spell in a safe place, but if you cannot you can place it in a window to dry all the same. Or do whatever you wish with it. If using a fake rose you may keep it near your bed or anywhere else to keep its influence close.
Long Distance Friendship/Relationship Spell
A spell to help maintain a long distance friendship or relationship between consenting people.
You Will Need:
💕 Aventurine (friendship, bonds) 💕 Aquamarine (ease communication) 💕 Chrysocolla (communication, connections) 💕 Ametrine (improve communication) 💕 Clear Quartz (power up spell) 💕 Salt (protection, purifying, honesty) 💕 Basil (friendships) 💕 Rose Buds (or petals) (close friendships, love, relationships) 💕 2 Blue Candles or tealights (communication, trust) 💕 Your Cellphone
Steps:
💕 On your cellphone open the contact to the person or the chat you communicate with them through, place it on the floor or a table. To the right and left of it place your candles and light them.
💕 In a small bowl or container place your herbs and place it above your phone
💕 In a circle around your phone and the bowl of herbs place your crystals. If they are point crystals have them pointing at your phone.
💕 Using your salt make a small circle around your phone.
💕 Hover your hands over your phone and close your eyes, feel the energies of your candles, herbs and crystals radiating from them, how they pass through your body and your phone. Focus your own energy in your hands and imagine it emit in gentle waves down into your phone as well.
💕 “No distance can keep us apart, I connect to you and you connect to me, over mountains and seas we will still be in touch, we shall remain together for communication is key.” Repeat the last line (bold) as many times as you feel is necessary.
💕 Finish spell by blowing out your candles and letting the smoke trail off imagining it traveling far off to where the other is.
Notes: If both you and the other person do this spell it will be more powerful but it is not necessary. Also, this is to help you keep communication, you still have to put effort into keeping the communication going for a successful LDR. If you are missing one or two of the crystals that is fine, just try to have as many of each as you can.
Parabatai Spell (Shadowhunters Inspired)
A spell to forge a bond with another consenting person to always be connected.
You Will Need:
Blue Candles
Red Candles
Two Long Red Ribbons
Marker
Friendship Rune from Shadowhunters
Steps:
Light your red and blue candles
On your right wrists, tie the ribbon around it leaving a long tail
together tie the long tails of your ribbons together
On the back of each of your right hands have the other draw the symbol
Once symbols are drawn, hold each other’s hand with the palms pressed together and close your eyes
“Together, we wish to stay, no matter the distance between. Together our friendship shall forever last, and nothing will break us apart.”
Repeat this three times together.
Let go of each other’s hands and press the back of your hands together so the symbols press together
“I tie myself to you, and you to me, so we can always be connected.”
You may then untie your ribbons then untie them from your wrists, hand the other the ribbon you wore and keep that ribbon with you or somewhere safe.
“Powder Snow” Spell Jar (Pokemon Inspired)
A spell jar to remove one’s own romantic feelings for an ex or a toxic lover.
You Will Need:
❅ Jar or bottle with lid ❅ White Glitter ❅ Salt ❅ Dried White Rose Petals ❅ Ground Charcoal (artist) ❅ Garnet Chips ❅ Clear Quartz ❅ White Piece of Paper and Pen
Steps:
❅ On your piece of paper write down all of the reasons why you wish to remove your romantic feelings towards the other person. Write down the pain they have caused you and your wishes to be set free. Be sure to write this person’s name on the paper too. Set to the side
❅ In a bowl mix your salt, dried rose petals, glitter and charcoal (small amount). Stir counter-clockwise to banish these feelings for this person, visualize them freezing up into ice crystals and blowing away and out of your life.
❅ Carefully pour mixture into your jar and place your garnet chips and clear quartz on top
❅ Tear up your paper from the first step into tiny shreds. Put all of your desire to rid yourself of these emotions as you rip and tear them
❅ Add the small torn pieces into your jar and close it and seal it as you see fit.
❅ Keep somewhere at room temperature and close to where you frequent. Whenever you feel these feelings rearing up again, hold the jar and take deep breaths focusing on your desires to banish them from you. Use the energy of the jar for this.

Power of the Heart Self-Love Spell (W.I.T.C.H. Inspired)
A spell to open yourself up to your own love and sense of self-worth.
You Will Need:
💕 Jar or Glass container
💕 Rose Quartz
💕 Water
💕 A Necklace or Amulet
💕 Moonlight
Steps:
💕 Fill your glass container with water and place in your rose quartz. In a window or outside place your water over night, preferably during a full moon. (any moon will do if you’re in a pinch)
💕 Come morning collect your water and bring it to your work area
💕 Hold your necklace cupped in your hands. Whisper to it your desires to start loving yourself and building your self worth. Visualize it glowing as you whisper these words to it, a soft dim pink. Once you have finished your words kiss it gently putting more of your wishes to love yourself into it.
💕 Holding it by its chain/string with both hands via your pointer finger and thumb lower it slowly into the gem water below until the charm/stone/pendent is submerged fully
💕 Time for more intense visualization: focus on the bowl as it glows with a warm pink light that shines bright like a fire and pulses like a beating heart. See it fill the necklace and make the necklace’s glow more intense until the water is no longer glowing and the light is coming from the necklace, pulsing and beating.
💕 Lift the necklace from the water and gently dab dry then put it on. Feel as it lays against your chest how its energy pulses and beats, warm and close to your heart. Let it warm you. Wear it whenever you need to love yourself.
💕 To cleanse leave in the moonlight and to charge simply repeat spell process above.
Seashell Charm for Self Acceptance
A simple seashell charm to help the wielder with self image and self acceptance. It encourages self love and self care.
You Will Need:
🐚 A White Clam Shell 🐚 Pink Candle 🐚 Red or Pink Marker
Steps:
🐚 Light your pink candle near you and let it burn as you work on spell.
🐚 With your pink or red marker draw a heart inside the clam shell.
🐚 “Seashell, seashell, help me love me for me. Seashell, seashell, please listen to my plea.” Fill in the heart you drew while saying this.
🐚 Blow out your candle and drip the melted pink wax into the shell until the inside is filled with the pink wax and the heart is covered
🐚 Leave overnight in the moonlight or the window
🐚 Carry the shell around with you to help encourage yourself to accept who you are and love yourself for it
Sweet Self Love Bath Spell
A spell for when you need to bring some self love into your life and to encourage positive thoughts and emotions.
You will Need:
Ice cream scented bath bombs
rose quartz
¼th cup of milk
a bowl of your favorite ice cream, yogurt or other treat
your favorite incense or scented candles
Steps:
Draw your bath so it is nice and warm to your liking. While it is filling pour in your milk
Around the rim of your tub or near it place your rose quartz. If they are points be sure to point them at the tub.
Light your incense and/or candles and place them where they won’t damage anything and won’t be at risk of being tipped.
drop in your bath bomb (I use bath and body works ice cream fizzy bomb) and step into the bath
Relax and focus on the sound of the water and smell of the bath and the incense/candle. Eat your treat as you relax, and let your worries and self doubts leave you. Focus on enjoying yourself. Stay in the bath as long as you desire.
Once out of the bath blow out the candles (if needed) and follow up the bath with doing something you love to do.
A simple spell for freezing the emotions of another towards you (removing crushes). Use this spell when someone has unfortunately gotten rather uncomfortable feelings towards you and can’t take the hint that you are not interested. Best paired with a binding spell if needed.
You will Need:
Wintermint breath spray
A poppet of your target
Container that seals
Freezer
Preparation:
Make yourself a poppet of your target. This can be done with any material you feel is best, I usually use paper or clothe poppets myself. On the poppet write the target’s name to help better focus this spell.
Steps:
Take your poppet and say the target’s name three times out loud. “I have no interest in your pursuit and you will not cease. Now I give you the cold shoulder.” Place the poppet into the container.
Say the target’s name 3x again, and spray it with the wintermint breath spray. “I freeze your feelings for me, I turn them to ice.”
Seal the container and place it into the freezer. “Now I leave them in the cold.” Close the freezer and leave the container in there as long as needed.
To break spell once the person has left you along/moved on simply open the container and let it thaw out on the counter over night. Dispose of poppet as you see fit.

Lilithmon’s Wicked Beauty Glamour Spell
“It confounds its opponents with its bewitchingly lovely appearance and dark beauty.”
A glamour spell to appear beautiful, mysterious, dark and captivating.
You Will Need:
💜 Eyeliner of Choice 💜 Purple Candles 💜 Black Candles 💜 Purple or Dark Eye Shadow 💜 Rose Quartz 💜 Garnet 💜 Mirror 💜 Piece of Chocolate (preferably dark chocolate)
Steps:
💜 Get your items together in front of the mirror you will be working with. Light you candles. You may use whatever number you desire just try to have at least one of each of the two colors. Be sure to keep them out of the way of where you will be working and possibly leaning forward to prevent burns and other undesirable accidents.
💜 Place your rose quartz and garnet near your candles to further fill the room with the aura of beauty, seduction and secret darkness
💜 Do your eye make using your eyeliner and eye shadow as you desire. Personally, I would recommend bold eye liner for this glamour and smokey eyes but do what feels right for you and works with your eye/face shape. As you do your make up visualize mysterious, beautiful captivating eyes wearing the make up you are applying. How their gaze draws others in and captures their attention. How they a beautiful but have an edge of mystery and almost danger to them, keeping others from getting too close. Keep this image in your mind as you finish up your eye make up.
💜 Once satisfied with your eye make up, while staring at yourself in the mirror pick up your piece of dark chocolate
💜 “Like eyes of a serpent in the night, I am lovely and charming but with a bit of a bite. Those who see me are struck by my beauty, but they dare not touch for they feel my radiated might. Like chocolate dark and bitter, I am beautiful, lovely and wicked.”
💜 Eat the piece of dark chocolate after saying this as a way to close the spell and give yourself an extra boost of seduction and energy for the spell. Continue on with your routine and know that you are wickedly beautiful
“88 Call” Friendship Spell (Funbeemon Inspired)
“Funbeemon uses its antenna to summon friends and allies nearby.”
A spell to strengthen the connection between you and your friends to help improve understanding, communication and empathy with each other.
Note: This spell is a consent only spell, you need your friends’ consent for this spell to work.
You Will Need:
Honey
Black Tea
Lemon Slices (one per person)
Mugs (one per person)
Spoons or Stirring Sticks
A place where you all can sit in a circle comfortably
Steps:
If needed cleanse the space and/or yourselves before preparing spell
Brew your tea and make sure everyone has a mug of it. Be careful that its not too full because it will be passed around and spilling boiling tea is not fun
Everyone take a lemon slice and squeeze the juice into their cup and say “88 call, 88 call, we stand together against it all. In thick and thin, joy and loss, we will stand side by side, together through it all.”
Take a spoonful of honey everyone and stir it into your tea clockwise. “We will communicate better, we will work as a team, just like a hive of honeybees.”
Pass your cup to the person to the right and stir the cup 3 times clockwise with your spoon and then pass it to the next. Continue this until you get your cup again.
Once it has gone full circle everyone enjoy your tea and know that the spell has been completed.
“Swipe Steal” Hex (Fangmon Inspired)
“It swipes with hits sharpened claws using its enhanced agility, stealing away weapons and items.”
A hex to cause the target to be hit with the inconvenience of misplacing and losing things.
You Will Need:
Black Candle
Piece of Paper
Black Pen
Burn Safe Bowl
Steps:
Light your candle and let it burn
On your piece of paper write down the target’s name or anything else you have to identify them (phone number, email, nickname, initials, etc)
Fold the paper up and light it on fire using the candle and place it into the burn safe bowl to burn to ash
Chant while watching the paper burn: “May you misplace your belongings” until the fire burns out and only ash is left
Throw the ash away or flush it down the toilet to finish the hex
Note: as a hex, its affects should be short lasting, but if you do need to break it at any point simply write on a piece of paper the person’s info/name again and burn it with a white candle chanting: “I break the hex” and dispose of ashes as seen fit.
“Its Special Move are firing rays of sunlight from all of its petals.”
An enchantment spell to fill an object with the energies of the sun to be used to bring energy, health, and confidence to the wearer of the enchanted object.
You Will Need:
Sun Water
Sunflower(s)
Marigold
Small Bowl
Jewelry you can get wet
A Sunny Day
Steps:
Find a place either outside to work or in a room with lots of windows with sunlight shining through them.
In your bowl add your sunflower petals and marigold
Pour your sun water into the bowl and as you add it say “Sunshine, Sunlight, solar energy give me might” as many times as you feel is necessary.
Take your piece of jewelry and lower it into the mixture and hover your hands over it and close your eyes. Focus on the sunlight you feel on you skin and the solar energy held in the water and flowers below your hands. Visualize this radiant gold energy filling and infusing into your chosen piece of jewelry
Once satisfied take out your jewelry and leave it somewhere in the sunlight or windowsill to dry (you may place it on a towel or paper towel and to dab it so its not soaked).
Collect it the next morning and wear it to give you the energy of the sun.
Charge ever few weeks in sunlight or with sun water
Kudamon’s “Cool Under Fire” Spell
“ It has a calm, cool, and collected personality, conducting a precise assessment of the situation even in combat, and attaining the advantage in battle.”
A Kudamon inspired spell to help one remain calm and concentrated during stressful times.
You Will Need:
Amber
Citrine
Tiger’s Eye
White Candle
Steps:
Cleanse yourself and the area before starting this spell
Encircle your white candle with the amber, citrine and tiger’s eye. Light your candle
Close your eyes an feel the energy of the candle and stones radiating and entering your body. Feel it relax your nerves and help push the worries back a little. Take deep breaths in your nose and out your mouth. Continue this until calmer
Open your eyes and look at your candle flame, watch it and focus on it knowing that you have work to do but its okay. You will be able to do it and you can handle it.
Once you feel prepared blow or snuff out the candle and begin your work. Carry around the crystals for added effects if needed
Kyukimon’s Winds of Offense Protection Spell
“A Bewitching Beast Digimon that can manipulate wind and whose defining feature is its light pink body. From both its arms it can give rise to vacuum tornadoes.”
An air spell used to create an offense protection barrier around one’s self to keep magickal and supernatural attacks at bay.
You Will Need:
Lavender
Peppermint
Mint
Parsley
Amethyst
Small printed out image of something sharp (razor blade, sword, etc)
White Sachet
Outdoor Space
Wind or a Breeze
Steps:
Print out the small image you would like to use to represent weapons or blades. Cut it down to size so it can fit in the sachet. Small toy swords or cocktail swords can also work but can still be pokey.
While still indoors fill your sachet with the herbs, image, and amethyst before tying it shut
Go outside to the area designated for your spell and face the way the breeze or wind is coming from
Hold the sachet in both of your hands close to your chest and close you eyes feeling the energy and movement of the wind
Focus on your intent to bring yourself offensive protection. In this case if needed be more specific such as ‘protection from magickal attacks” or ‘protection from baneful spirits’ etc.
Once your intent is clear visualize the wind that you feel on your face swirling around you and your sachet like a tornado, you are safe inside. Any darkness or threats that come near it cut cut by the winds and warded off from getting near to you. Visualize this until you feel that protective energy about you and visualize it anchored to your sachet.
Once satisfied close the spell as you see fit
Carry sachet with you for its protection. Charge it weekly and cleanse it with wind, incense or near an open window. Keep it dry.
“Although it fundamentally dislikes combat, its Special Move “Ocean Love” makes all of its opponents lose their fighting spirit, resulting in it achieving victory.”
A spell to remove hostility from another or a group, that they are using to cause harm to themselves or others.
You Will Need:
A clam shell
Taglock or Name of person(s)
Dried Chamomile
Himalayan Pink Salt or Sea Salt
Black Candle
Sewing Needle or Pin
Steps:
Light your candle at the beginning of your spell.
Take your taglock or the name(s) on a small strip of paper and put it inside of the clam shell.
“Your spite and anger is a heavy weight, so now I bind you so harm you cannot initiate.” Then repeat “I bind you” 3 times.
Sprinkle the salt and chamomile over the top of the taglock in the shell as you say this.
Blow out your candle and use the wax to pour over the clam shell to seal the binding
Once the wax has dried take your needle and carve an upside down heart onto it. “I remove your hostility and bind it away.”
Keep clam shell somewhere open and bright to help keep the hostility sealed up in it.
To break the binding: break the wax seal on the seashell or remove it and state “I break this binding” 3 times.
Notes: This is a binding spell for when a person (or persons) is hostile and has become a threat to you, to others or themselves. This spell is not meant to change a person’s personality or who they are, it is to prevent them from causing harm. This spell is not a “cure all” for all aggression issues or anger issues.

Hello my dears, especially all of you young new enthusiastic witches who are curious about the world of witchcraft and the use of mysticism in your life. Witchcraft is very rewarding and is practiced worldwide for a variety of reasons. I, too, was once a curious and honestly confused young witch trying to figure out where to start and how I should begin my journey. This is why I am creating this new series of guides for all of you who have found yourselves in that boat. I truly hope that these will help you greatly!
With these guides, I will be posting all sorts of information for you including vocabulary, links, resources, correspondences, exercises to practice, examples and even in some cases “homework” for you to give a try. So feel free to take notes or save these posts to your blogs for easy access. Feel free to message me or send me asks as well if you have any questions on the topics I cover. What is a witch?
Let’s start with something simple but important for all beginners to understand. What actually is a witch? A witch is an individual who uses magick, pretty simple. They do NOT have to be female or born “into it” or Wiccan. A witch is a person who uses and practices witchcraft and Magick.
What is magick?
Magick is making an effort through energy of oneself or other types of energies to change aspects of one’s life. These changes can vary depending on the type of spells, rituals and practices you are using. The reason a “k” is used at the end of magick is simply to separate it from the word magic which is often associated with illusions and parlor tricks.
What is a spell?
A spell is like a recipe for magick. It is a process using energies, actions, ingredients and sometimes words/chants to get what one desires as result. Spells can range in a variety of complexities from very simple to extremely complex. As a witch, spells are often how you change the aspect of things in your life. Though spells can sometimes require a large variety of ingredients, spells can be as simple as energy and intent.
What is intent?
Simply put, intent is what result you wish to get from your spell or ritual. It is the energy you will be using to get results. Intent is extremely important for any spell. What do you wish to happen when you cast it? Intent is the end goal you are reaching for.
Research Time!
Now that we have the very basic definitions down, it’s time to go over the next important step for you as a young up and coming witch: proper research and note taking. Yes, I know it doesn’t sound like the most enthralling task, but it is such a very important one.
Get yourself a notebook or binder if possible because it’s going to be your best friend during this process. Get one that you like, but don’t feel the need to make it fancy. A simple college ruled 70 page notebook works just fine. Get yourself a pen or two to write with and if possible some highlighters which can really help keep things organized. These will be your tools for the start of your journey, and you will likely continue to use them for years to come. I have been doing witchcraft for just over 9 years now, and even I still use dozens of notebooks full of notes to aid me in my craft.
Now that you have your materials, it’s time for you to start gathering knowledge. On or off tumblr, start looking into aspects of witchcraft that already hold your interest. I will be covering more on these specific topics, but begin your research early. You can never have too much knowledge resources. Save websites and posts to ensure you can easily access them later.
Some good places for you to start is to look into correspondences for the following things:
Herbs
Crystals
Types of Water
Vegetables
Fruits
Moon Phases
Time of Day
Days of the Week
Though these sound simple, it is good to start building up that library. Correspondences of objects are what these items and ingredients are often used for and associated with when it comes to intent. Begin with the basics of finding resources on these topics and anything else you are interested in. Take notes and safe them so that you can reference them later on.
Beginner’s Safety
Just like anything else, witchcraft can be dangerous. You must have some safety precautions and practices to ensure you do not cause harm to yourself or anyone else living with you.
First off, use your common sense. If something seems dangerous and worries you, don’t do it. Our guts should not be ignored. If a spell or ritual calls for dangerous conditions that you are uncomfortable being in, such as filling a room with burning candles or lighting a large object on fire, then it is not worth doing.
Use proper fire safety when burning things. Keep a bowl of sand or salt near you in case the fire flares. Keep your hair tied back if it is longer than your jaw when burning things; roll up your sleeves; make sure you are in a space that is safe to have smoke (open a window if needed). Have something safe to put the burning object/paper in, such as an earthenware or clay bowl/plate. Holding burning paper is just a bad idea. Don’t ever leave candles burning if you are not in the room or if you are leaving, and don’t fall asleep with candles and incense burning. When using oils on candles, keep a close eye on them in case any of the oil catches fire. Don’t ever put water on an oil fire!
When using ingredients in a bath, make sure the items you’re adding to the bath is safe. Certain oils can cause skin irritation or burns (such as pure citrus oil and basil essential oil). If you have a vagina, don’t put sugar into your bath (you can use honey, but don’t use more than a tablespoon or two and don’t use it too often) at risk of a causing yourself a yeast infection (not fun). Make sure the herbs you are using are safe to use in baths and again if a crystal is not safe in water, keep it on the floor or near the tub, but not in the water or where it will get wet. Be smart: Don’t ingest random plants you find outside, unless you are certain it is safe.
So I am going to be here at work for quite some time and I need some motivation and it has been ages since I have had some asks from you guys for advice, opinions, ideas or really anything related to the craft. I am not able to work on any new posts at the moment due to being at the morning job, though hopefully I can work on some tonight at the night property. 🌄Morning Witchcraft☀️: how to connect to the elements
These are some of my tips for connecting to the elements in the morning before school, work, busy days, or just a day at home. It’s also handy for witches like me who prefer to work in the morning and daytime 🌞
☁️Air-
💨wake up at dawn if you can (dawn is the time that correspondes with air)
💨pick a perfume that correspondes with your intent for the rest of the day
💨listen to some music to set intent for the day and energize yourself
💨get some fresh air and let the crisp morning air invigorate and center you
💨light incense that correspondences with your intent of the day
💨enjoy the morning bird chirping
💨do a daily divination reading to get a feel for what to expect for the rest of the day
💨incorporate almonds, honey, strong scented herbs like dill, or eggs in your breakfast
Water🌊-
💧have a cup of tea or some water when you wake up
💧take a shower or bath and let it cleanse you
💧take a morning swim if you can
💧moisturize with lotion that correspondes with your intent for the day
💧make a water bottle of infused water (with the herbs/fruits of your intent) to carry around and keep you hydrated for the day
💧collect morning dew
💧pick a seashell that correspondes with your intent for the day to carry around with you
💧sing! (to connect to mermaids and warm up your voice for the day)
💧incorporate apples, berries, salt, fish, or avocado in your breakfast
Earth🌳-
🌿take a walk or jog
🌿do some yoga
🌿pick a crystal that correspondes with your intent for the day to carry with you
🌿ground yourself
🌿take care of your plants (water them, talk to them, etc.)
🌿do a prosperity spell for the day
🌿spend time with your pets
🌿use plant based products or make your own if you can (like shampoo, soap, makeup, etc.)
🌿incorporate nuts, beans, roots (like ginger), and greens (like spinach and kale) in your breakfast
Fire🔥-
🕯light a candle to set your intent for the day
🕯enjoy the morning sunshine, feel it’s warmth
🕯do some makeup or fashion magic when you’re getting ready
🕯meditate with the Sun
🕯take vitamins and/or medications
🕯stay warm with hot teas, hot showers, blankets, etc. (the morning can be a bit chilly)
🕯use the sunshine as a positivity and happiness spell and let it charge you for the day
🕯carry a tealight with you (you never know when you’ll need one)
🕯incorporate citrus and spices (like cinnamon, peppers, etc) into your breakfast
Or, more appropriately titled: Doing Your Own Research, Without Just Looking Up Someone Else’s Correspondence Lists. Because while those lists are very handy to get started or have a shorthand reference, it gives us memorization, stopping just short of real understanding. What’s more, most correspondence lists won’t have your local (overlooked) plant life, or whatever niche plant, rock, animal you need. Sometimes, you have to get your hands dirty and figure it out from scratch.
Anyway so here’s some stuff you can do to aid in that.
The Science Look into what it physically is. What family does it belong to? If that weird plant growing in your backyard is closely related to say, basil, it will likely have similar properties. Was that crystal formed under heat and pressure, or is it a sedimentary rock? What does this animal do? How does it live and survive? A lot of correspondences come from this level, and it’s the easiest level to research. Physical traits and fun science facts are all welcome here and fair game to use in magic.
The Folklore Okay, so we know what the Thing is made of, but let’s look into its relationship with humans. There’s nothing demanding that roses be the Official Love Flower, but rather it’s a collective cultural thing. That has worked itself into magic as well. The Vibes The actual, spiritual sensations you get from holding or touching the Thing. (This is going to apply more to rocks and plants… please don’t go out and touch wild animals.) This will give you some better understanding beyond just what it does, but how it does it. Does the energy seem aggressive? Is it fast or slow moving? Does it give you the impression of being related to a certain element? Which brings us into the next…
The Voice If you communicate with stuff or spirits at all, this is for you. Just ask the Thing for yourself! “Hello. I am ____. Tell me, what sort of things would you be able to help me with?” Prepare an interview, maybe. This will likely be more specific than “love” or “cleansing,” because they’re giving you a pitch and will know themselves very well. It may be “I help someone realize romantic feelings they already have but don’t know about,” or “I help other cleansing items so that cleansed spaces stay cleaner for longer, but I don’t work by myself.” If you get an answer, record it!
Experiment Use the Thing! If you have a general idea of what it does, throw it into the mix for your next relevant spell and see how it changes the result. You can read a lot about something, but the research doesn’t stop when you start using it! As you discover things through repeated use, make note of that as well!
basil is an herb i hold close to my heart as a witch, as it’s told in folklore that witches of old used basil to fly on their brooms. its magickal properties include steadying the mind, bringing happiness, love, harmony, and wealth.
lemons, rich with the aura of the moon, are excellent fruits for healing and cleansing.
to make basil lemonade, you will need:
☾ ½ cup rinsed basil leaves
☾ 3 tbsp. sugar
☾ 4 cups water
☾ ½ cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
in a bowl, combine the basil leaves and sugar. with a wooden spoon, crush the leaves with the sugar until crushed well. add water and lemon juice, and stir clockwise until the sugar is dissolved (about 2 minutes). add more sugar to taste.

A curse is a magick spell, or ritual with the intention to harm by sending some form of negative energy to a construct, or entity. Curses have been known to cause so many different forms of harm, all depending upon the intentions of the person who places it, or the event that the curse comes from. There are three different types of cursing that are more or less based on what the curses effect these are target curses, bound curses, and family curses.
Target Curses:
These types of curses target a specific entity, and are used to cause harm in some way to that specific entity. these curses will be sent out from the practitioner in order to inflict the Target with some form of negative aspects. This process will usually use a magickal link referred to as a taglock in order to connect with the individual entity. These taglocks will be connected to the target through association, similarity, or contagions, and will be the bridge in order for the negative energy to travel along.
Bound Curses:
These types of curses will be bound to specific objects, and will affect their surroundings with the negative energy that they emit. These curses can also be attached to places themselves, and will affect everything that comes in contact with that place. These types of curses will also affect the objects, or the places themselves putting them into a state of decay, and corruption, while they also go through the process of affecting everything that is in its vicinity. Places, and object bound curses can happen unintentionally through highly emotional, and traumatic negative events, which will infuse into the places, or objects making them into cursed constructs. If done intentionally by a practitioner it should be noted that this type of cursing method can be quite uncontrollable, because you do not know who will come in contact with the place, or the object that you curse, which can have unfortunate consequences.
Family Curses:
Family Curses also sometimes referred to as generational curses are curses that affect an entire family, and its bloodline. These type of family curses also decrease in power as generations go on. It is pretty much split by half every time there is a new descendant. These types of curses will target in entire family, and will usually do so for generations causing misfortune, and harm throughout its being.
A magickal circle is an energetic construct that you build or envision around yourself before working magick, doing a ritual, some like to cast a circle before meditating or reading tarots. For a solitary practitioner the circle is typically 5-6 ft in diameter, but the size expands based on the size of the group. It can be defined physically, energetically, or both.
Circles provide protection and serves as a container for your personal energy as well as the energy you conjure.
Please remember that this is just what i personally like to do when casting a circle, but that there are many methods.
Preparation for circle casting
1. Determine how much space you will need.
2. Cleanse your area. Vacuum, sweep, throw away any trash in the area.
3.Make sure you have everything you need for your ritual! Theres nothing more frustrating than having your circle casted and realizing you’ve forgotten an herb or any supplies you need for the work you’re about to do.
4. Purify your area. Light purifying incense, sage, sprinkle salt and holy 💧. Most importantly, Visualize the negative energy dispersing. If you don’t focus & visualize, your physical actions will have little effect. Visualization is hands down one of the most important things in any and all magickal workings!
5. Now its time to cast your circle!
Visualize protective energy coming from within you and direct it towards your casting arm. Focus it through a casting tool (Athame, wand, or ✋) and visualize a beam of energy coming from it and settling on the ground. Trace your circle with this energy, 3 times in a clockwise direction. Once for protection, once for focus, and once for power.
Call the 4 quarters
Face North and say “I call to the North, to the element of 🌏. Grant me (us if not practicing alone) your endurance, your strength.” Sprinkle salt onto your altar or crumble 🌏 into a bowl on your altar.
Face East and say “I call to the East, to the element of Air. Grant me your creativity and your intuition.” Light incense, wave a fan,or drop feathers onto your altar.
Face south and say “I call to the South, to the element of 🔥. Grant me your passion and your energy.” Light candles.
Face west and say “I call to the West, to the element of 💧. Grant me your empathy and your emotion.” Pour blessed/storm/🌙/natural 💧 into a bowl or into your chalice.
Now would be the time to call on any deities you’d wish to work with. You can call any Goddess or Angel by personalizing this to them. I typically do not personally work with deities, but if you were to want to, Call to them similar to how the Elements are called. Ex. “I call to Gaia, Mother Goddess, Spirit of 🌏.” and then place an offering symbolizing them, so for Gaia you might place grain on your altar as an offering.
If not solitary, now would be the time to invite others to the circle. The group leader typically invites others in by a series of phrases, although i know every coven has their own method fine tuned for themselves, This is just the method i’ve seen used and am familiar with. Ex. Group leader:”Children of the Goddess, I now invite you to enter our circle.” Each member will be asked “How do you enter this circle?” The response should be “In perfect 😍 and perfect trust.”
Now its time to raise energy. This is the most important part of this process.
Here are a few ways! There is no wrong way to do this part, and there are SO MANY ways. You can fine tune this all to you.

Meditating to raise energy. Visualize energy building and building by 👀 by 👀 warm, yellow light fill your body until its expanding out of your body and filling the dome above your circle and visualize it filling with energy.

Once you reach your desired energy level, it is time to get into whatever spellwork or ritual you desire to preform!
ONCE YOU FINISH YOUR WORK SAY GOODBYE TO THE ELEMENTS AND THANK THEM FOR THE POWER THEY BROUGHT. ALWAYS SAY GOODBYE AND THANK ANY DEITIES CALLED ON.
I like to walk the circle the opposite way of its casting three times, and voila!
Keep in mind that this is just my method! There are many methods and this is just one of them.
Okay, so I realized something today. I always see posts detailing the various correspondences of different types of water. Moon water, sun water, eclipse water, rain water, storm water, snow water, even *dew* water. Water from a lake, a river, an ocean, a stream, a brook. Even water collected from mist.
But y’all know what I haven’t seen?
Rainbow water.
So hold on to your seats yall because I’m about to take ya on a ride.
Rainbow water is something I use quite often in my craft. Why? Because it’s got so many uses! I use it for:
LBGTQ+ spells
Spells for positivity
Spells for luck
Spells for change
Spells for perserverance
Spells for hope
Spells for connection (I call them “bridge spells”)
Spells for happiness
Spells for creativity/imagination
Honestly, I have no idea why I haven’t seen rainbow water being mentioned before. It can’t be because it’s too difficult to collect because, y’all,
You can make your own rainbows. You don’t have to wait for one to show up in the sky.
Observe:
That right there is a bona fide rainbow that i created with nothing but a hose on the mist option and natural sunlight. Get yourself a pretty (or ugly) bottle with a wide mouth and you can very easily make your own rainbow water!
“But wait, Eiolrin, what if I don’t have a hose?”
Nothing to fear. I’ve got your back. You can also collect rainbow water by:
Shine a light through a prismatic crystal, then placing a bottle of regular water in the rainbow that’s created. Just like making sun/moon water! You don’t need to put it in the rainbow for more than maybe 1-5 minutes.
Get a plastic spray bottle that mists and spray the mist into natural sunlight until you find a rainbow. Hold bottle against the rainbow and *keep misting*.
Hell, you know what? Who needs an *actual* rainbow?
Draw a rainbow. Print out a picture of a picture of a rainbow. This rainbow is in my grimoire in the form of a magic circle (enchantment circle) and i’ve imbued it with the energy of a rainbow. I use this to make rainbow water sometimes.
So go forth and conquer, my lovelies! Be the witch/mage/occultist that uses rainbow water! Spread this around and make sure this is something that becomes a thing because in my opinion, rainbow water is just too useful to be ignored as a valid component in spells and other things.

I know previously I said it would take 30 minutes from start to finish, but this was my first straw besom, and it took roughly an hour to complete.
I’ll pass along some tips as I go along…(long post is long, sorry!)
First of all, do not use a handle that is not straight across. If the top part has an angle, or a point, you will run into problems later, like the end cracking when you put the broom together. Also, make sure the handle is not too long, that creates problems because you can’t reach when putting it together.
Combing out the straw grass took about 15-20 minutes. I strongly recommend doing all of your besom work outside, as it creates quite a mess! I honestly just used the cat brush for this, and it worked like a charm! Gather up small bundles in your hand and comb out the straw to remove leafy, and loose bits.
You’ll want a pail with some water in it to soak the straw in to soften it a bit, and this will also make it easier to work with. I used long, plastic zip-ties, twine, scissors, and a pail with some water. (I didn’t use the roll of green plastic covered wire, I just didn’t end up needing it!)
Next, divide your straw into two nice bundles, and while holding them, tap them onto a flat surface, like a tabletop to even them out. You want all the bristles to be flush on the bottom before tying them up.
Slide a zip tie under your bundle of straw.
And pull that baby TIGHT!
Now do that a few more times! TIGHT! Until you just can’t get the ties any tighter!
Once I started putting the besom together, I found I really didn’t need those last two. The handle just wasn’t going on, and the bundle was TOO tight at that point, so I had to cut them last minute.
At this point, if you wanted to simply use the bundle as it is, it would make a nice hand-held besom. You could just cut the ties close to the end, but not cutting the ties away. You leave them in place and cover them up. Just cut the ends off.
You hand-held besom would look like this…(minus the plastic ends, and nice photobomb by the cat brush in this one)
Almost to the end now! Top part of the handle will be on the ground, and while standing up, you want to take your bundle and try to get it centred over the pointy end of the handle.

With one hand firmly on the bundle, and the other on the handle, legs apart, pound the handle on the ground, into the centre of the bundle, using a straight up and down spear-like motion. You’ll need to do that several times, until the bundle is firmly in place and shows zero signs of moving. This is where it is important to have a handle that is even and not on an angle. All this pounding on the ground will likely result in a broken handle, and a very sad Witch.
If you have done everything reasonably according to plan, your besom it assembled, and you can finish it off by wrapping twine over the ties to hide them.
In the end, it should look something like this…
Now you could leave it at that, of take the scissors and give the bristles a little haircut, like I did. It’s your besom, it’s up to you!
I really wanted a truly witchy looking broom, and I accomplished that with this besom. Now I just need to bless it.
If you’ve been following me for a while, or read my posts, you’ll know that I like a hands on approach to my craft, and feel it’s important to show others how with a little effort, you can honestly make your own items. That’s why this post is so long, so that you can see the steps involved, and that it’s really not that hard to do. All the supplies I had on hand already, so the cost to me was $0.00, except for the time to gather the grass, handle and to assemble it. Something like 5 hours. So when you see a besom and wonder why they are pricey, you know that at least 4 or 5 hours went into making that besom. If you need supplies, hit up Dollarama (or your local dollar store) for twine and zip-ties.
When I talked about straw-grass, it’s any kind of tall, straw-like grass that has gone to seed at the top. Wheat grass, or any tall grass similar to this…
It should have stalks that feel just like those on a corn-broom.
This was the fourth besom I have made, and just love making them!

There are shockingly a lot of different witches out there. Many of them you can find on here! So I compiled a list of witches and what they do. Please remember there are many different witches and I could have forgotten some things. Let’s start with the basics!
The Basics:
What Makes a Witch a Witch?
A witch is anyone who practices magic. You can be male, female, trans, non-binary whatever. It doesn’t make you less of a witch(some may say otherwise don’t listen to them).
Do I have to follow a Religion to be a Witch?
Absolutely not but it doesn’t mean you can’t have one. There are some common religions that witches to follow such as Wicca and Paganism, but you do not inherently have to have a religion to be a witch. You do not have to give up your current religion to be a witch(another common misconception).
Do I have to be only one kind of witch?
Nope! You can have a main focus(mine is herbs and divination) but you can also delve into many other paths(on the side i enjoy astrology, spell jars, sigils, etc).
How do I choose?
Honestly, just think of all the things you enjoy and most likely you can turn that into a type of magic fitted just for you.
Are there any rules?
No not really. I prefer telling people this: if you don’t want someone doing it to you don’t do it to someone else. Spells do have pros and cons. Please be aware of that.
Now, lets go into a quick list of witches. I say quick but this may end up long.
Types of Witches:
Art Witch
A witch who incorporates art and crafts into their magic. This includes art work, art supplies etc.
Cosmic Witch
A Witch who’s magic revolves around cosmic events, the galaxy, etc
A witch who works with swamps, swamp life etc and incorporates their magic into it
Techno Witch
A witch who heavily relies on technology(ie emoji spells and more)
Traditional Witch
A witch who does things like the ancestor witches following the same codes and rituals
Urban Witch
A witch who lives in the city and incorporates city life into their magic.

Hey everyone, so I’ve been having a bit of trouble starting a new book for the last month or so after finishing writing my third novel. I decided to compile a spell bottle/jar to bring energy, motivation, passion, creativity, and all that.
Here’s what I have in it as well as the correspondences, from the bottom up.

I need some help deciding what to tackle next. All of these will (hopefully) be done at some point though due to my insane work schedule I can’t do too many at once. So the options are:

Deities of the World (part 1) This post will be a bit different of a type of post it would be both history based and witchcraft for those who do deity work focusing on deities of different types and different lore figures throughout the world and different lore. It would cover sometimes more obscure faiths or cultures that may be partially closed but this is also for informational purposes. Each segment would be separated either by culture and/or deity archetype. This post is for everyone interested in mythology but also will have sections with recommend offerings and even in some cases prayers or old traditional ways of worshipping that particular deity. Some posts would have several deities in them and some may be focused on one singular one.
Because I kind of have my own correspondences for the phases of the moon, I thought I’d explain them here!
• New Moon – the moon is just beginning to become illuminated, so it can correspond with new beginnings, a fresh start, cleansing, exploring new opportunities, newfound health or relationships, finding peace with yourself and moving on – “out with the old and in with the new.”
• Waxing Moon – the moon is continuing to grow, becoming more and more visible, so it can correspond with attraction magick, reaching goals, manifestation magick, positive energy, success, wishes, good luck, gaining wealth, and dreams come true.
• First Quarter – this moon is halfway illuminated, on its way to becoming fully illuminated, so it can correspond to balance, and the need to make decisions.
• Full Moon – the moon is fully illuminated, so it can correspond with extra energy, a magickal boost, cleansing, charging, enchanting, performing divination, and honoring lunar deities.
• Third Quarter – this moon is also halfway illuminated, but on its way to becoming invisible in the sky, therefore while it can still correspond with balance, it can also correspond to focusing on the task at hand, banishing, and breaking old habits.
• Waning Moon – the moon is becoming less illuminated, and seems as though it’s disappearing, so it can correspond to generalized negative energy, reflection, introspection, transformation of the self, banishing things, binding others actions or undoing bindings, letting go, moving on, cleansing, breaking bad habits, and finding peace.
• Dark Moon – the moon is completely hidden in the sky, with no illumination at all, so it can correspond to cursing, banishing, binding, seeking justice, reflection of the self, and generalized destruction.
• Blue Moon – this moon is either the third of four full moons in a season, or a second full moon in a month, so it’s appearance can correspond to wishes, dreams, divination, achievement, and focus.
• Black Moon – this moon is an additional new moon that appears in a month or in a season, or the absence of a full moon or of a new moon in a month, therefore it can correspond to extra power and manifestation.

When reading palms, whether your own or someone else’s, these are the main things to consider:
Which hand is dominant? For right-handed people, the left hand gives information about inherited characteristics and potential, while the right hand reveals the development, character, and life events. The opposite is true for left-handed folks!
Quality of lines and their points of intersection. How strong or fine are the lines? Are they straight and long, broken and twisted, etc.?
The directions of lines, which mounts they occur on or near, and their influences.
Shape of the hand, fingers, nails, and mounts.
General demeanor of the person and the hand.
MAJOR LINES
Each line has its own meaning and depicts a certain course of action in a person’s life. Lines come in all shapes and sizes. Not everyone has all six of these lines, although the first three are always present (the fate line is usually present as well).
Heart line: emotions, insecurities, marriages, dependence and independence, the nature of your relationships.
Head line: intellect, reasoning powers, prospective career paths, potentials for success.
Life line: pattern and quality of life, physical vitality, stability or imbalance, will power and logic, not necessarily the indicator for length of your life.
Fate/Saturn line: strengths of character, career, friendships, life’s daily problems, and general ability to succeed.
Mercury/Health line: health matters, business and adventure, the spirit of discovery.
Apollo/Sun line: utilization of creative energies and potentials for success through development of talents.
MOUNTS
The mounts are fleshy cushions underneath each of the fingers. These mounts carry the same name as the finger they are under. Below are the different character and personality traits associated with each finger/mount.
These are just a few of the figurative markings that are commonly seen on the hand. They add meaning to the lines or mounts they are near.
Branches: emphasize strengths.
Breaks in lines: emphasize weaknesses.
Chains: signify obscure goals, inclinations to deviate.
Crosses: signify upheavals, violence, struggles, and blunders.
Islands: indicate delays, injuries, and problems.
Stars: emphasize luckiness.

When the Duchess of Northumberland took over the English garden in 1995, she wanted to fill it with something different that would interest children, who “don’t care that aspirin comes from a bark of a tree. Personally to me, autumn is the most beautiful season of the year. Nothing compares to the colors, the smells, the sounds, and let’s not forget the tastes you experience in this season! It’s a great way for many witches to awaken their mind, body, and soul. But, not all witches live in vast forest or suburban areas with trees. If you live in the desert like me, (Sonoran Desert, Arizona woot woot 🌵), then you have to find the beauty of autumn in other ways. Seeings how the local cacti aren’t “dropping leaves” and the temperatures are still in the 90°F – 100°F zone it can be hard to get into the spirit of things. So, here are some tips for my fellow witches in the desert!
🍂Get up early to experince dawn ☀️
Set those alarms early. You’ll want to wake up and brew that tea as soon as the sun starts to peep over the horizon. Gotta be up no later than 6 am, trust me. It’s the only time of day where there’s sunlight and it’s only in the 60°F – 70°F temperature zone outside. The best time to get that “fall feeling” you miss is right now. The nip from the desert night’s air meeting the warmth of the morning’s beaming sun rays is indescribable. Nature at her most beautiful and serene. It’s also a great opportunity as witches to charge or cleanse anything you’d like (water, crystals, spell jars, etc) to give an extra “kick” from the day’s first light.
🍂Go Hiking 🏃♀️
No, seriously. I know it seems silly but, go out on a hike and THEN tell me you don’t come back more “one with nature” lol. Whether it be by yourself or with friends, go out an enjoy the life that is teeming all around you. Some of the most beautiful scenes in the desert are during autumn months because the summer rains have left behind all that new green foliage. Not to mention the beginning of migrant animals can be seen on your walks as well. Hiking in general is just a great way to realign yourself with nature. To recharge, cleanse, and give yourself a good “boost” in positive energy.
* Helpful desert tip: Remember to always keep a charged cell phone, water, and food on your person when you go out hiking. Also it is super important that before you go out on a trail monitor the weather in the area you are going to. Monsoon rains and flash flooding on trails is still a big threat to hikers until October. Make sure if you hike alone somebody knows exactly where you are going, how long you are planning on hiking for, and when to expect you back from your hike.
🍂Plant something new 🌱
This time of year for us desert witches is great for planting new seedlings. Those precious flowers and herbs that died this summer? Try replanting them now. Mints, lavenders, berries, peppers, all sorts of plants can now flourish. With temperatures still warm during the day but short of freezing at night, even outdoor planting and gardening is perfect in autumn. If you have succulents put them outside in the wee hours of the morning. The early rays are perfect for even delicate babies to enjoy outside safely.
🍂Celebrate with local foods 🥐🍎
Anyone can eat pumpkin pie or have apple cider. It’s in the markets EVERYWHERE. But, fall for me means prickly pear and mesquite trees. Prickly pear is a fruit from the cacti plant, Opuntia, and it is heaven. It’s our pumpkin here in Arizona in a lot of ways. Culturally it’s a staple to welcoming autumn in the desert. The monsoon rains have brought a lot of new harvest. The fruit is picked for grilling, baking, soups, candies, jams, jellies, drinks, breads, cakes, you name it, it’s made with prickly pear. lol. As well with mesquite trees, you can mill the pods that the trees drop in the fall and make flour with it. The rains from the monsoons has been making the pods sweet and ready to bake into breads, pies, cakes, all sorts of goodies. I can always tell it’s autumn out here when you sit fire side to mesquite wood burning, prickly cakes, and a nice tall glass of prickly pear cider. yum! 😊
Where ever you are, remember to embrace all the moments fall has to bring. Enjoy the changing season around you and celebrate it however best fits you 🍁

I’ve been making these muffins a lot this summer, so I thought I would share them with you all! Everyone seems to really like them, and I feel like they’ve done their job of strengthening and reviving my friendships with others.
This recipe makes 12 standard size muffins. Feel free to make substitutions to the recipe as you see fit!
Recipe:
2 and ¼ cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon baking soda
A pinch of salt
1 cup sugar
½ cup oil (coconut, canola, vegetable)
1 cup light sour cream (can be substituted with plain greek yogurt)
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon lemon juice
Zest of 1 lemon
1 and ½ cups (12 oz) fresh raspberries
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees fahrenheit. Grease a muffin pan or use parchment/foil muffins cups to line the pan.
In a large bowl mix together the flour, baking powder/soda, and salt. Make sure all of the ingredients are evenly distributed.
In a medium size bowl mix together the sugar, oil, sour cream, eggs, vanilla, lemon juice and lemon zest. Whisk until the sugar dissolves.
Pour the mixture over the dry ingredients and fold until combined. Be careful not to over mix!
Fold in the raspberries until evenly distributed. (A tip I use to make sure all the berries don’t sink to the bottom is that I mix them with a little bit of flour before I fold them into the mix.
Use an ice cream scoop to evenly divide the mixture into you’re already greased/lined muffin pan.
Bake for 18-25 minutes depending on oven type. To check to see if the muffins are done you can insert a toothpick into a few of them. If the toothpick comes out clean, then they are done!
Magic and Correspondences:
Lemon- Purification, healing, removal of any negative influences or blockages. The yellow from the zest corresponds with friendship and healing.
Raspberries- Growth, the strengthening of relationships. The red of the berries is associated with passion, desire, renewal, and joy.
Sugar- Sweetens not only the muffins, but the magic of them too. It can sweeten the bond and energy in your relationship.
Vanilla- Love, passion, peace, and luck.
You can also draw some friendship sigils on the parchment/foil cups if you use them. While mixing the muffins channel your intent to revive and strengthen your friendships with others. Feel free to pair this with a spoken spell, but I prefer to just focus my intent and channel it’s energy into the muffins when I’m adding the ingredients, mixing them, and while I watch them bake.
practical and simple ways to cleanse and bless your home 🌿
🌿 burn cedar sticks or cedar incense. cedar helps drive away negative influences, energies, and spirits. really good herb to work with when moving into a new space. helps with protection on all levels.
🌿 sprinkle a blend of salt, sage, and mint on the floors to soak up all the negative energies on the ground and vacuum up when you feel it has picked everything up. clean out all that salt from your vaccuun and dispose of it in the trash outside (not in nature)
🌿 diffuse lavender oil. lavender oil is very protective and helps bring serenity and peace into a space.
🌿 manifest abundance and prosperity by meditating with citrine and placing it in your home. place a clear quartz next to it to amplify abundant energies
🌿 make a crystal gird out of selenite, black tourmaline and white jade. these crystals will create a barrier of protection around your house and they will cleanse the hell out of it.
🌿 place pieces of selenite in windowsills, this will purify energy coming in and out of the house. immediately raises the vibration of the room
🌿 when burned, palo santo releases a cleansing smoke filled with healing energies. great for filling spaces with good health and fortune
🌿 ask your spirits/deities to cleanse, protect, and bless your space and leave them offerings when you are done
🌿 sandalwood incense raises vibrations, cleanses, offers psychic protection, and helps to open up psychic awareness

Cleansing, protecting and raising the variations around you are just as important as working on your psychic abilities. These little things can create a wonderful space to practice.
You don’t have to stay completely still to meditate! Wiggling is often fairly essential to getting comfy, and if a position is getting uncomfortable after a while, of course you’ll want to move! Allow yourself little twitches and involuntary movements, and if you’re experiencing discomfort, of course move! Discomfort distracts from your meditation more than making a minor adjustment to get comfortable! Your goal is to be comfortable enough that you’re able to let go of your physical senses, NOT to stay still for ages!
NO THINKING!
You’re totally allowed to have thoughts! If you have a thought, you’re not “meditating wrong”! The real skill comes with redirecting your consiousness away from thoughts after acknowledging them. Feel free to acknowledge your thought, greet it, and recognize it! It’s a thing! But then tell that thought that you’ll come back to it later, and gently send it on its way. Instead of focusing on the things floating in our stream of consiousness, we want to learn more about the stream itself!
SPIRITUAL MEDITATION ONLY!
Meditation is incredibly useful for many things! And many of those things have nothing to do with spirituality or magic or religion! Meditation helps us learn more about ourselves and how our brains work. It teaches us to relax and free ourselves from the vice grip reality and its stressors have on us. Through meditation, we can release unhelpful thoughts, and stress in the body and mind. You don’t have to be a witch, monk, or celestial being to meditate!
IF YOU DON’T HAVE A MAGICAL, TRANSCENDING EXPERIENCE, YOU’RE DOING SOMETHING WRONG!
Again, meditation is more than transcending and magic! If you learn anything about yourself, find peace, de stress, ease discomfort, or really get any sort of benefit at all, you’re doing it right! It takes time to easily shift into meditative states, and even more time to easily get into trance/vision states, so not getting there immediately doesn’t mean you’re a failure! NEVER getting there doesn’t mean you’re a failure! So long as you’re improving your state of mind or body in some way, you win!
MEDITATION IS A RITUAL!
Uh, no. Meditation can take place in a temple, with incense and candles and all that fancy stuff, sure… But it can also take place in your pajamas while chillin’ in bed. Or in the back seat on a long, boring road trip. Or in a hot tub. Or on the bus. All you need to meditate is you, your brain, and a want to meditate. You CAN do a ritual before/after/during meditation if you like, but it’s by no means required!
SIT UP, YOU MUST BE IN THE FANCY LOTUS POSITION!
You don’t need to make a leg pretzel to meditate. You can meditate laying down (if you feel you won’t fall asleep), you can be sprawled out in a beanbag, you can be lounging in a recliner… Whatever you want! Again; getting comfortable enough to let go of your senses is the goal. If a sitting, fancy position isn’t comfy for you, don’t do it!
WHAT’S YOUR MANTRA?
Having a mantra or affirmation to repeat is helpful to some, but it’s not for others. You don’t have to have a mantra, and you certainly don’t have to use it out loud!
BEADS, BALLS, SHAPES, OH MY!
You don’t need mala beads to meditate! Mala beads or prayer beads are used to keep track of how many times you’ve said your mantra or prayer, and are more for specific eastern religions. You don’t need those metal ringy balls, though they can be helpful to have a feeling and motion and weight to focus on. Really, all of these things help to provide a focal point. Any skin-safe stone can provide weight or sensation to focus on, or you can even use a stim (cube, spinner, texture, chew, etc) to help. If you’re a fidgeter, or need stim to relax, stim away! But none of these things are required.
IF IT’S NOT EFFORTLESS, YOU CAN’T MEDITATE!
If you have a hard time meditating, problem solve! What was hard about it? Why? How can you improve the situation for your next try? Meditation isn’t instant, and it’s not effortless and easy for everyone! Take your time, move at your own pace, and find what works best for you.
HOW TO: (this is just one method, the one I use!)
1. Get comfy! If you’re able to change into comfy clothes, do it. If you’re able to get comfortable in bed, or a favorite chair, do it. Of course, things don’t always go our way, and sometimes we’re stuck with less than desirable situations, but do your best with what you have!
2. Get EXTRA comfy and relax. Slowly start relaxing your body. Wiggle around and get your torso and central body comfy, then wiggle and get your shoulders comfy, and then your hips, and then your legs and arms, and then your head, and then your hands and feet. Unclench your jaw, let yourself breathe slowly and comfortably (if you’re like me, counting doesn’t help; just get into a comfy, natural breathing pattern.)
3. REALLY relax. Go back through your body, head to toes, toes to head, bit by bit, and relax your muscles and body as much as possible. If you’re struggling, tense, hold, and then slowly relax each part, bit by bit. Let go of your physical sensation. Work to not feel your body at all. Breathe naturally, and slowly, slowly let your body fade away on its own.
4. Inward we go! Breathe naturally and slowly turn your mind inward, and watch your stream of consiousness. A thought may float along, and that’s okay! You can acknowledge it. Say hello to your thought! But then tell it you’ll focus on it later, and let it go. Gently free it from your focus, and let it float away. Do this again and again until you no longer really need to try on it. Once you’re to the point you can watch your thoughts float by without touching them… Congrats! You’ve reached a meditative state!
5. If you struggle to let your thoughts go, or find yourself worrying you won’t be able to think on it later, or you’ll forget, it’s okay. It’s natural! Instead of stopping and moving your body to pick up a pen and paper to write things down, consider getting a recording device of some sort, and simply give your thought a few keywords out loud, to remind you later, before letting it go. You can keep your focus internal, and just dictate absently if you need to!

This is one of my preferred simple cleansing techniques for cleansing a room of negative energy. It is a traditional method that has been used for a long time when it comes to removing negativity. Some say you can also use it for banishing or warding spirits though I usually only use it for simple cleansing every week or so.
You will need:
Peeled Garlic Clove
Small Bowl/Container
(Optional) Tablespoon of Distilled/White Vinegar
Simply place your garlic clove inside of the bowl you have and if you desire add some vinegar (said to strengthen the process). You can also optionally add salt or cleanse with salt around it. Take the container and walk around the room holding it before you in one hand and using the other to lightly fan the air towards it. You may choose to do cleansing chants or hums if you wish, though I usually use visualization and simple energy work for this. You want the negativity to be anchored to this garlic clove. Once done place it in the center of the room, preferably at waist height or higher. Leave for one or two nights.
It is said traditionally that if the garlic stays its natural color or a yellowy color, then there was little to no negative energy in the area. If it turns brown it is said there was moderate negative energy absorbed into it. And if it turns dark or black in that one or two nights there was a great concentration of negative energy in the room. After you are done be sure to toss the garlic to rid yourself of the negative energy trapped within it.
Because sage isn’t the only thing you can use to cleanse your space.

That’s right all my wonderful followers, its time for some witchy asks! Send me your questions, your ideas, your thoughts and anything else that you may need some advice, guidance (within reason), knowledge and opinion on. I am having a rather slow day at work and I would love to get some asks again! I do miss getting them regularly.
I am also considering doing some spell requests (or rather inspiration for spells) if I have some time later this week but that is still up for personal debate.

Whenever I see glamour spells, they’re usually in regards to makeup or feminine maintenance. This isn’t a bad thing – those spells are wonderful, and I love reading them (especially given the fact that I see them as being useful for myself at times). But often I find that there’s a bit of a lack of glamour spells for men.
I’m talking about glamour spells for shaving, for cologne, and the like. And while this is a tip and meant to be brief, I wanted to put a few out for my male followers who want to keep up a masculine appearance, but want to work a little magic into their daily routines!
Shaving: Depending upon your shaving method, there are plenty of ways to work in glamours. I personally use a safety razor and shaving soap (you know, the old-fashioned kind with the ceramic dish and solid soap bar inside that you froth up with water and a hog-hair brush). If you use this method, choose scents that you associate with that which you want to bring into your life (patchouli for enhancing masculine fertility, dragon’s blood for strength, et cetera). If the type of soap you buy has scented options, this is a great way to work it in. If not, be careful to check and see if it is safe to work essential oils into your lather. (It is important to use safe oils and in small amounts, as shaving causes micro-abrasions on the skin; if it is not a safe oil, or you’re using too much of it, it will cause the skin to dry out.)
A similar method can be applied to other lathers and creams, though these often come with plenty of scents.
Working sigils into makeup is a frequent form of glamour spell, and shaving can incorporate this as well. With a small amount of the lather, you can draw the sigil onto your skin before spreading it out – spread the lather out in clockwise circular motions while visualizing and focusing your intent into your skin and lather.
Shaving can also be a spell unto itself – the scraping away of negative traits or energy. As you shave away your hair, visualize the negative energies or negative traits coming up off of your skin and being removed from your body.
And I should point out that these shaving tips apply not only to the face, but to wherever you are shaving. That said, if you’re “manscaping,” I would recommend against using the oils unless you’re absolutely certain that they’re safe, and recommend choosing scents and sigils for increasing potency, male sexual energy, et cetera.
Colognes: As I get into this, I want to make a huge point here. Guys, whether you’re into other men, into women, or into the whole spectrum, scent has no gender. What can often be universally agreed is that some body sprays simply aren’t appealing. First step to scent-based glamour spells is to avoid scents that make you smell like the inside of a middle school (or even high school) locker room after PE or a football game. For the majority of ladies and men, that’s just not an appealing scent (and sprays are often more damaging to your environment than is immediately realized).
That said, deodorants and colognes are a great way to work some glamour into your daily routine. Select scents that you associate with your goal. If you’re using a stick deodorant, you can mark a sigil on the bottom of the container, or you can take a moment to hold the deodorant in your hand and empower it with your intent. The same can be done with colognes and perfumes (yes, perfumes… again, scent has no gender). Floral and fruity scents can work wonders, so choose floral or fruity scents associated with your intention.
Skin and Hair Care: It is important to remember that while society on the whole doesn’t seem to focus much on male skin and hair care, it is still vitally important. Using moisturizers is beneficial, and sigils and the like can be worked into your skin – scents add further benefits for this. As you wash and moisturize, again use your intentions and energy to confer those intentions into your spell.
Though for the most part, shorter hairstyles are the norm for men, that isn’t to say that glamours can’t be incorporated. Sigils on your products, empowering your shampoos and pomade, rinsing your hair with essential oils. All of these can be done to further reinforce your glamours.
Clothing and Accessories: Whether you wear jewelry or not, this is still an option for men. If you wear jewelry, you can empower your accessories with your intention. Clothing can be marked with sigils on the tags, or washed with appropriate oils. Anything that works with your appearance can be incorporated into a glamour spell!
Last point I want to make is that glamour spells unto themselves are gender neutral. If there’s any take away I want there to be with this witchy tip, it’s that everyone can be beautiful/handsome and can incorporate magic into their routine to add to that. Confidence and humility are sexy, and by embracing your personal style and adding your own magical flair, you can further empower these aspects into your life!
Living on the coast or near the ocean is not an option for many people. Whether it be budgetary reasons, minors living with family, spoonie witches who need to live with caregivers, or being stuck in a landlocked state or country. Though because you have distance between you and the ocean, doesn’t mean you cannot connect to it still. Though your craft will likely not be as powerful at times as one who is practicing straight on the beach, never think that you cannot use the energies of the great oceans in your craft just because you are stuck somewhere else. With this masterpost I hope to help my fellow landlocked witches know how to connect and use sea magick.
Stop the Gatekeeping
First I would like to address a problem I have seen several times in this community (especially here on witchblr) about sea witchcraft. I have seen far too many people telling others they cannot use anything ocean related in their craft unless they are near or on the beach, and that if you wish to practice sea magick you “should just move to the coast”. This is an issue I already brought up in my little intro: for many that is just not possible.
Firstly, in several places living even near the coast costs extreme amounts of money, much more than certain people can afford. Secondly, it may not be medically feasible. If the spoonie witch’s caregivers or care circle cannot move or if moving is something that could upset their illness further, they should certainly not move just to please you “real sea witches”. Some countries are also simply landlocked, they’d have to move completely out of their homeland to reach the coast and for some that is not even an option. We all have different lives, needs and situations going on and not everyone can live the same way. Let others practice their craft in a way that suits them.
Getting Started/Creating your Space
As in my previous Stuck In the City post, we are going to start with a space or altar set up that will allow you to help feel connected to the ocean. Depending on the space you have available there can be some fun ways for you to connect to it. First find a corner or a table or even a spare part of a room that you can use for your set up, the more room the better in my personal opinion but I understand that space can be very limited.
Clean and cleanse the space you wish to use, make sure this is done well enough for the space to be comfortable to work in. Next it is time to create space for yourself, create an area that you can either sit or even lay down in, whatever you find to be the most comfortable when meditating or rejuvenating yourself after a long day.
Once it has been clean and cleared find a nice flat space and surface to place your altar, preferable somewhere that is fire safe in case of wanting to use incense or candles. I usually in cases of meditation or long term practice try to make it somewhere comfortable with furniture or an area where I can sit or even recline during my practice. I personally enjoy some extra pillows or cushions in the corner though this is entirely up to you.
Some things to consider adding to your ocean altar: beach sand, shells of any kind (clam, oyster, cone, crushed, broken etc), crab shells, dried sand dollars, dried starfish, driftwood, ocean stones/pebbles, shell dust, sea glass, sea salt, dried kelp (powder), ropes, buckets/cups/bowls/containers, fish bones, fish oil, bottles, shark teeth, cork and sea water.
Living on the coast or near the ocean is not an option for many people. Whether it be budgetary reasons, minors living with family, spoonie witches who need to live with caregivers, or being stuck in a landlocked state or country. Though because you have distance between you and the ocean, doesn’t mean you cannot connect to it still. Though your craft will likely not be as powerful at times as one who is practicing straight on the beach, never think that you cannot use the energies of the great oceans in your craft just because you are stuck somewhere else. With this masterpost I hope to help my fellow landlocked witches know how to connect and use sea magick.
Stop the Gatekeeping
First I would like to address a problem I have seen several times in this community (especially here on witchblr) about sea witchcraft. I have seen far too many people telling others they cannot use anything ocean related in their craft unless they are near or on the beach, and that if you wish to practice sea magick you “should just move to the coast”. This is an issue I already brought up in my little intro: for many that is just not possible.
Firstly, in several places living even near the coast costs extreme amounts of money, much more than certain people can afford. Secondly, it may not be medically feasible. If the spoonie witch’s caregivers or care circle cannot move or if moving is something that could upset their illness further, they should certainly not move just to please you “real sea witches”. Some countries are also simply landlocked, they’d have to move completely out of their homeland to reach the coast and for some that is not even an option. Images of the ocean, the sea, islands and beaches are also other wonderful things to have posted or framed about your altar to help make it feel like you are on the beach. If possible to do having a large container of sand to run your hands through or even rest your feet in for grounding purposes can be very helpful to have tucked away nearby. For candles on your altar try to stick to blue, white, sea foam, teal, green and beige colored candles to help associate it directly with the sea. If you have ocean scented candles or wax melts those are perfect to have here as well.
Some candle, incense and oil scents to consider if you wish to have something scented on the altar that are often related to the sea (other than the obvious Ocean Mist/Spray scents) would be: coconut, tropical fruit/citrus, seagrass, lime (coconut lime together works well), sandalwood, any ‘fresh air’ scents tend to relate well, ‘sex on the beach’, rain/storm scents, tropical scents, sea salt, sea salt reed, cedarwood, rosemary and some say lavender they like to add to certain scent combinations.
Crystals are always good options to add to any altar and can be affordable depending on their size and cut. Some crystals to consider to add to your ocean altar would be: ocean jasper, aquamarine, chrysocolla, amazonite, pearl, mother of pearl, blue lace agate, moonstone, sapphire, coral and opalite. Though any blue, white and teal/green crystal can also be used to associate with the sea and dyed or crackle quartz can be used to substitute stones as well.
Herbs that are associated with the sea and water would be: coconuts (and coconut oil), seaweed, kelp, seagrass, lotus, grapes, lettuce (and other watery greens), cucumber, chamomile, orange, willow, melons, watercress, lemon, lime, jasmine, lotus, pansy and skullcap. All water related plants can intern be used to associate with the ocean.
Grounding and Meditation (Brief)
Ocean grounding and meditation is very similar to that of standard practice. Though to make it more connected to the ocean there are a few things you can do. One tip for meditating and feeling close and connected to the ocean is to use that previously suggested tub of sand to either stand in or rest your hand/feet into. Close your eyes and feel the sand on your skin, ground your energy into that, have it flow into the sand and back to you. Image you are on the beach with your feet buried into the sand. Light some incense or candles before you begin to help get that oceany smell. If you have a computer or phone available you can play calming ocean sounds or the sounds of waves. Envision yourself there on the beach or out at sea to help connect to the sea’s energy. Any crystals or shells or other things available to you can help you connect to its energy.
Portable Ocean Altar
So like I covered in my previous installment of this series, portable altars a fantastic optionsf or witches on the go or for witches who practice their craft in secrecy. To recap quickly, portable altars are used by many witches who are on the go or just keep their craft secret. They are very easy to make and can be very convenient for when you need to cast a spell away from home.
First you will need a small container to carry your supplies in. Some witches prefer pocket sized things like small boxes that jewelry may come in, altoid tins or other small containers, other witches prefer journal sized ones inside boxes, plastic containers or tins. It really depends on what you will need and what you will personally be carrying it in. Whatever you choose to carry it in make sure its durable enough not to be crushed inside a purse or bag so that whatever is inside of it does not get damaged or ruined. Preferably make sure there is a way to close the container or tin you are using tightly, if needed tie it shut using ribbon or yarn to help prevent it from popping open inside your bags.
Now, it’s time to fill it with the items you need to make it an altar in the first place! Depending on the size of your altar it will change what can fit into it, so feel free to play tetris a bit with what you are fitting into it. You want things to be a bit snug to prevent them bumping around and breaking but you don’t want it so tight that you can’t get anything out.
Common suggestions to add to your travel altar: tealights, birthday candles, travel matches or lighter, crystal shards, chips or small crystals; beads, small containers or packs of salt and herbs, tea bags, small sachets and bags (for portable spells on the go!), small animal figurines, small shells or shell shards, small containers of sand, sea salt, images of the ocean, blue or black pens/ink/pencils and sea glass.
For larger portable altars consider also adding: scissors, baggies, travel books on different subjects (such as shells, the ocean, ocean animals, herbs, witchcraft, etc), journal or notebook, sketchbooks, pens and other writing tools, portable bottles, crystals and portable wands.
Sea Witch Crafts, Spells and More
Sea Witch Bath
A bath for a sea witch to help them connect with the ocean, recharge, and meditate to their heart’s content.
Blue and white candles (optional- ocean scented ones)
Steps:
Light your candles before filling the tub. Once you start filling the tub add your coconut oil, coconut water, sea salt and kelp powder. With your spoon stir clockwise to help mix in the powder, which can take a bit. The water should turn a faint green tint (the more kelp you add the greener it gets but also the stronger the smell gets). Line your tub’s edge with your sea glass, sea shells, and gemstones. Be sure not to let the gemstones fall in the water, especially if they are ones that can’t get wet. Get into your tub and enjoy.
Note: Kelp powder smells very strongly of kelp, it is a scent I personally like but a lot of people don’t. Air out your bathroom a bit after the bath to disperse the smell. Also if you do not wish to smell like kelp yourself, rinse off after your bath quickly.
Sea Witch Bath Mix (faster and storable mixture compared to Sea Witch Bath)
A simple bath mix to add to baths for a quick relaxing and cleansing experience.
You will need:
1 cup Sea Salt (or epsom salt mix)
1 tsp of Kelp Powder
1 full spoonful of Coconut Oil (melted and mixed in)
4 drops of diluted Sandalwood Oil for scent
Steps:
Simply add to your bath whenever you wish to have a nice relaxing bath. You may adjust mixture to your desire though be careful when using essential oils. For more sensitive or dry skin you can replace all of sea salt with epsom salt with kelp scent/ocean scent instead to prevent more damage to it.
Simple Shell Candles and Candle Holders
Shell candles are super easy and fun to make! Simply all you need is some candle wax, wax dye (if you wish to have it colored), a wick which you will be cutting to size and a candle preferably a clam or oyster shell. For added spell usage you can add sigils inside of the shell using a marker and activate it each time you burn your candle. Carefully place your wick into the candle and add your melted wax. Let it harden and trim candlewick as needed.
For candle holders make sure you have a sturdy shell, if possibly glue or stick it to a wooden chip or other sort of ‘stand’ to prevent it from tipping. Add your candle into the older and add a bit of melted wax if you can to the bottom to help hold it in place from tipping out of the shell (especially if it is a tower candle).
A Witch’s Portable Ocean Jar Spell
A spell jar to hold the energies and essence of the ocean for use when one is away from the ocean. Good for charging, meditation, sea grounding, spell strengthening, and general ocean witchcraft.
You Will Need:
A Jar with a tight sealing lid or cork (preferably one that won’t rust)
Beach Sand
Sea Salt
Sea Water (or stormwater if you can’t get sea water, tap works if really needed)
Dried Kelp or Kelp Powder (small amount)
Sea Shells or crushed shells of choice
Driftwood (small)
Sea glass
Twine or Rope or Blue Ribbon
Steps:
Make sure your jar is cleansed and yourself before beginning spell. Have all items prepped and your area cleansed and prepared as you see fit. In your jar add the sand covering the bottom. On top of the sand add your shells, driftwood, and sea glass.In a separate bowl or cup add your water and in it mix in your kelp and your salt, stirring clockwise focusing on the smell it emits (which will be salty and kelpy like the sea) and how the waves and currents of the ocean churn and move. If you desired you may play sounds of waves on a device to add to the visualization. As you stir focus on this visualization and putting those images into the water as you stir it.Once thoroughly mixed pour it carefully into your jar, visualizing how the waves rush onto the beach during high-tide, covering the sand and shells on it.
“Water of salt and brine, upon the sand and bits of shell, the ocean I capture into this jar, so I may draw from its energy like a well.” While saying this focus on your intent to capture the energy of the ocean and have it with you when you need it, and keep visualizing the ocean and beach.
Once you have all of your water in the jar seal it tight with the cork or lid.Take your rope/twine/ribbon and tie it around the jar just below the lip of the jar. “I seal the power of the sea inside, I capture the beach at high-tide.” Keep refrigerated to prevent from getting gross though contents may have to be regularly replaced (excluding the shells and glass that should be reusable).
Sea Spell for Astral Travel
A sea spell for any sea witches who wish to astral travel, especially if it is to the ocean. Good for witches who are stuck inland.

Steps:
If you are using sounds of the beach then play it softly in the background as you perform the spell. Light your candles and encircle them about your bowl or near it, depending on what your space allows. In your bowl place your sand then sprinkle salt over it. “My feet in the sand, the salt in the air.” Place in your shells as you see fit, into the bowl atop the sand and salt. “Seashells about me, I’m without a care.” Sit near the bowl and get yourself comfortable. Close your eyes and listen to the sounds of the beach, feel the energies of the ocean you have brought into your space. “So now I travel, across the sea, to the places I desire to be.’
Voice Theft Curse (Sea Curse Inspired by the Little Mermaid)
A curse to stop someone who has been spewing hateful speech and words and return that negativity they put out back into their life.
You Will Need:
Sea Shell (preferably a clam shell)
Paper
Black Marker or Pen
Black Candles
Taglock (if you can manage)
Pencil
Sea Water (sea salt in water will suffice if needed)
Steps:
On your small slip of paper write down your target’s name in pencil. With your black marker write in large letters covering the name “SHUT UP!” Crumple up the paper between your fingers, rolling it and squashing it. Put all of your frustration and anger into this action. Place the crumpled piece of paper into your seashell. To release more negativity and return it to the target spit onto the shell and paper. If you have a taglock place it in the shell as well. Place your candle on top of the seashell and light it, let it burn down and cover the shell and paper in wax. Once it is sufficiently covered take your sea water and pour it over the over the candle drenching it and the shell. Take the shell and bury it in the ground or into a planter. If you cannot do this then store it somewhere dark. Cleanse your space and yourself afterwards and rest.

Davy Jones – Seen as Death and the “devil” of the sea, sometimes associated as a grim reaper like being
Draco – A constellation that depicts a dragon or large sea serpent. Depending on the lore it is sometimes related to islands, the sea or other waterways. Sometimes it is depicted as a woman with hundred of serpentine heads.
Kraken – Mythological creature of the sea depicted as a great squid or octopus, some worshipping it as a lesser deity of the deeps of the ocean
Mother Nature – often represents all of nature the ocean and sea life included
The Moon – The moon’s gravitational pull controls the tides of Earth’s sea and due to this many worship it in relation to the ocean, tides, waves and water.
Neptune – Planet closely related to the sea and its energies, is named after the Roman God of the Sea Neptune.
The Ocean/Spirit of the Ocean – Some see and worship the ocean as a deity of its own with its own lifeforce and will
Pisces – The fish constellation, often related to the water, the sea and sea life
Moon Spell Cookies
Ingredients:
• 1 cup of finely grated almonds (optional)
• 1 ¼ cups of flour
• ¼ cup of confectioner’s sugar
• ¼ cup of butter
• 1 egg yolk
Directions:
1. Combine almonds, flour, and sugar.
2. Work in butter and egg yolk until well blended.
3. Set it in the fridge until chilled.
4. Roll into crescent moon shapes or use a cookie cutter.
5. Place on greased cookie sheet and bake at 320 degrees Fahrenheit (160 degrees Celsius) for 20 minutes.
Spells for:
Love – Add a few pinches of rosemary, sweet basil, cinnamon, and honey.
Prosperity – Add cinnamon, nutmeg, basil, and grated lemon peel.
Protection – Add cloves, rosemary, anise, and cinnamon.
Psychic Ability – Add star anise, nutmeg, orange, and thyme.
