100 ways to incorporate magick in your daily life.

I understand that these are not exactly all witchy but this is about intergreting your everyday life in your practice and appreciating as well as finding magick in the most mundane and simple things that we often miss out on. ♡

1. When you wake up, before grabbing your phone or getting out of bed, take a few seconds to breathe, and stretch all your limbs.

2. Say ‘’thank you’’ to your god/goddess/deity, or simply to acknowledge how lucky you are to live another day.

3. Open the window regardless of the weather and take a big breath of fresh air. This will not only cleanse the room but also your body.

4. If it’s raining outside or snowing, take a minute to admire the beauty of it.

5. Pick wildflowers.

6. Dry said wildflowers and put them in your Book of Shadows or any book or journal you are using.

7. Go for a walk in nature during the day and during the night as well.

8. Sunbathe.

9. Moonbathe.

10. Light lots of candles.

11. If your room needs a cleaning, try to make your own household products naturally using your favorite scents and clean your room with them.

12. Change your bed sheets and pillowcases.

13. If you have a clothing line, hang your clothes, blankets, sheets, comforters, pillowcases, underwear outside. Visualize the wind cleansing them.

Some woman was throwing these glass jars into the ocean and frankly, I’m furious. You don’t throw non-biodegradables into the ocean! That’s straight up littering! Luckily the cops showed up which prompted her to stop her littering but she got away; OP fished them out of the water afterward.

And in case anyone was wondering what’s inside, the OP said there were raw eggs inside, some broken, and paprika.

Omfg! Listen up witches! THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE! I know most of you wouldn’t do anything this foolish, but for those who think you can throw whatever shit you want into any body of water, you need to think again!
There are plenty of ways to achieve the same results without littering.
I’m assuming this woman was cursing everyone she knows and trying to get rid of them, but you can do that many, many different ways.
Do some damn research.
AND DONT FUCKING LITTER!

Don’t be that witch. Keep your jars for your home spells and protection jars. I’ve seen plenty of broken jars on Galveston Beach down here due to this foolishness, don’t do it.

Instead take some old toilet paper tubes and use that. Or take those little biodegradable seed starter pots and use those.

Water frozen in jello shot molds or bowls work really well too. Just transport them in an ice chest and you’re good to go.

The Scratch Curse

amaradarkmoon:

     Inspired by current events in my life (:

     This is a curse to “scratch” your enemy when they are wishing ill upon you or sending you bad energy.

Things you’ll need:

  • A chicken foot (or a sharp claw like object if your not comfortable using animal parts)
  • A photo or poppet to represent the target
  • A pouch/something to put things in
  • Guinea Peppers
  • Chili flakes
  • Black Pepper (optional)
  • A black candle
  • A red candle

Directions:

     This curse works best preformed when the moon is waning. If you work with deities or spirits, call on them now.

     The first thing you want to do is crush and mix your guinea peppers, black pepper, and chili flakes. While you’re crushing them, get angry. Someone wants the worst for you, wants you to fail and/or suffer- and that’s pretty shitty. Focus on that how your going to do something about it and crush your ingredients with that anger, sadness, disappointment etc. This is you retaliating. Pour your ingredients into your pouch.

If your using a photo write the persons name on the back and any other information you have to identify them (DOB, Address,etc.). If your using a poppet do the same on a piece of paper or directly onto the poppet.

Next take your chicken foot or claw like object and scratch the photo/poppet with it three times. Each time repeat this chant with all of your witchy power:

“I scratch you for wishing ill upon me. The ill you wish is now upon you.”

place the photo/poppet in the pouch along with the chicken foot/sharp object. Seal the pouch with black candle wax and then red on top.

It’s ideal to bury the pouch at a crossroads (or cemetery or the targets property) but since that’s not always a possibility- or legal- you can opt for burning it or simply throwing it away in a dumpster (NOT in your home). I actually use the latter for curses and binding spells and it works just fine. After you’ve released the curse in your preferred way, walk away and don’t look back. Also remember to take a different route when heading back home.

Good luck

Fearing Death – A Guide for Aspiring Death Workers and Witches

Many people- in fact, most people- fear death. There is something about the uncertainty of it that strikes us and makes a certain panic simmer within our minds. This is my guide to feeling more comfortable with the thought of death, in a healthy way. It may not work for you, but it has for me, so I am sharing in case it will touch someone else, too.

I Don’t Want to Waste My Life

Our natural tendencies to procrastinate fuel our fear, until we are no longer fearing death itself, but the idea of living an incomplete and wasted life. This is extremely unhealthy, in my opinion, because it can lead to stress and anxiety over how much we do, our productivity, and our success in comparison to those around us.

I am here to tell you that your life is never wasted. This helped me overcome my fear of death, because I learned to be glad to live in general, and to exist in harmony with the rest of the creatures and plants on Earth. I am part of an indefinite cycle of life and death, and supply a part in this world and its population.

Thunderstorms make me happy, especially on the days when I can lay in bed and watch horror films. Add a cup of passion tea to my bedside table and I couldn’t be more content. Some would say this is a waste of time, but to me it is not. I enjoy these kinds of things, and sometimes this act of selfcare is all I can muster. My happiness is what matters to me, and helping others along their own path towards it. My life is not wasted, even if all I ever do is make someone smile.

I Don’t Know What Comes Next

Who does? I don’t, at least not officially. Priests don’t know, atheists don’t know, polytheists don’t know… But we may. We may know eventually, if we have any sort of consciousness after death (which I heartily believe in). And I have to remember that I don’t need to know the answer to this mystery yet. I have drifted across so many theories and religions trying to decipher it. But I can’t. And this acceptance is the basis of reclaiming the hold on your fear of death. When you accept death, you can let it go and coexist with it all around you.

Don’t focus on what you don’t know. Focus on what you do, or what you believe to be true. Do you communicate with the dead? Then you may believe they are the passed souls of Earth, and that there is an afterlife of some kind. Do you see the spirits of humans? Then you may believe that they have some sort of form in death.

I Am Afraid of the Pain of Dying

I am, too, sometimes. But then I remember that there are more people that have died than there are people living on this Earth. Death is often seen as quick, fleeting, and immediate in some cases. Of course, it is also seen as drawn out, violent, and painful. My solace when I think of the latter is that it is an experience, and if I do have to feel it, it will just be a brief period of this life that I have to accept and release. Radical acceptance is a coping mechanism my therapist taught me about. It had helped me immensely with this journey into forgiving death for all they have taken from me, and thanking them for bringing peace and rest when it is needed. I also learned to appreciate it as much as life.

These are my tips, I hope they help.

do you have any suggestions for combining knot craft and storm craft? i’m interested and connected to both but i don’t know how to combine them since i’m new to all of this haha.

sorceressofstarlitforest:

  1. A storm bracelet. Use thread and charms representing the type of storm you want involved in your spell. (Example: Blue and white threads with snowflake charms for making good memories and protection in the winter.)
  2. Seal a cord with mud to hold in power. Wash away the mud to release the power.
  3. Visualize storms while doing knot work.
  4. Incorporate storm imagery into a charm for cord magic. (Example: By knot of one, the storm’s begun. By knot of two, rain protects me and you. By knot of three, lightning I see. By knot of four, thunder is at the door. By knot of five, we feel alive. By knot of six, we build with fallen sticks. By knot of seven, the storm becomes our weapon.)
  5. Combine images of storms and sigils in embroidery.
  6. Crochet using the storm clouds pattern.

Sparklers + Witchcraft

themixedwitch:

  • Sparklers can be used for happiness and a boost of positivity.
  • They can be used for any spells relating to youth or childhood.
  • Sparklers have a wondrous, hypnotic feeling. They can be used in spells and glamours to attract admiration or attention.
  • Surprisingly, I have found that they are excellent in banishing as well. I had some unwanted guests in my home, so I rubbed a sparkler with Flying Devil Oil (not necessarily recommended) and lit it. They left within minutes!
  • Finally, sparklers add a bit of energy to any spell!

messageinthecrystal:

Strength and Luck Bath Spell

  • Gladiolus blossoms (if you have sensitive skin, the stocks of gladioli could be bothersome, but petals are usually no issue aside from florist chemicals, be mindful of where your flowers are coming from)
  • Black tea
  • Lemon lavender tea
  • Epsom salt
  • Full moon water (I used full moon in Aries water, collected Oct. 5, 2017)
  • Frankincense incense

While pouring the moon water over me, I chanted,

“Full Moon of Aries, Strength wash over me and retreat, my Anxiety.”

I heavily sweated out a lot of toxins and came out feeling rejuvenated and with high spirits.

Spell to give some protection to a loved one.

brujitamae:

image

(Gif not mine, ya’ll.)

“Here, put this on. It will protect you. It’s made from the threads your friends wove together.”

I’ve seen some Miyazaki/Studio Ghibli spells but not anything for this, so I took a crack at it. This spell is based on the scene where Zeniba, No Face, Bo, and Yubaba’s bird make Chihiro a new hair tie. But instead of a hair tie, you’re gonna be making a bracelet.

What you need:

  • Purple thread* and 4 or 5 other colored threads that match (or dont) purple.
  • Beads and charms (optional)
  • Picture of your loved one
  • Candle (tea light works)

*I say purple because in the movie, it’s a purple hair tie and some sources cite purple as being used to drive away evil and negative energy. But you can change it to any colors you want!

What you’re gonna do:

  1. Gather up all your supplies and sit somewhere comfortable.
  2. Light the candle (any color, but if you’ve got a color candle that you use for protection, go ahead and use that one) and place the picture next to the candle and gather up some energy with the intent of protecting this person.
  3. Start making your friendship bracelet. Here’s a tutorial for a traditional friendship bracelet (link). This is one for a twister bracelet (link), this is one for a square knotted bracelet (link), this is for a Chevron bracelet (link). Choose whichever tickles your fancy and start braiding. While you braid the threads, think about your loved one and protecting them. Let every braid carry that protective and loving energy.
  4. Add a bead/charm, or a few, in there if you’d like. Let every bead you add heighten that protection.
  5. When you’re finishing it and knotting it up, use the knots to fasten the protection into the bracelet.
  6. Blow/snuff your candle off or let it burn all the way down.

And you’re done! Give it to your loved one and preferably, be the one to tie it on them!

Anxiety Reduction Crystal Elixir

celestictarot:

What you will need:

– A jar

– Moon Water

– Amethyst

– Clear Quartz

– Rose Quartz

– Citrine (optional)

Hi guys 🙂 As some of you may know I have an anxiety disorder.  While I advocate for professional treatment (if your budget allows it), I also love the idea of using witchcraft in addition to other methods for helping myself cope!

*Please note witchcraft is never a substitute for professional medical treatment or advice of any kind. *

So onto the elixir!

I came up with this when thinking about my own anxiety.  I used waxing crescent moon water to help myself with personal growth.  Here’s the ‘recipe’!

1. Place your moon water into a jar (I used one I got from Dave and Busters, any jar will work!).  The moon water I used for this recipe was fro a waxing crescent.

2. Add in the rose quartz (for self love), clear quartz (the master healer) and amethyst (for fighting anxiety).  In addition to this you may also add in citrine (for happiness and positivity).  Please note that before you ever make any sort of crystal elixir to look up the solubility of your crystals and minerals in water.  Some may become damaged, others can be toxic!  This specific elixir is meant to go on the skin, not to be ingested.

3. Very lightly, swirl the water with your fingertip and repeat “my anxiety cannot bring me down”.

4. When you feel anxious, dab a little water on your forehead to ward off the unhappy and unwanted thoughts.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I hope this helps some people ❤ I had a lot of fun creating this, and would love some critiques as it is my first time making one of these 🙂 Best wishes to everyone!
get the fuck away from me spell
spellcraftbaby:
this is a basic and powerful banishment spell to keep a toxic, malicious person from influencing you, affecting your world, and attempting to hurt you. best done during a waning moon. you will need:
> black pepper (banishment, protection from evil)
> cloves (banishing hostile and negative forces)
> vinegar (banishing, binding, and averting evil)
> black and white candle
> paper and pen with black ink
> a jar with a lid
1. as you light your candles, recognize that the flame creates an aura of fire, will and strength. the black candle burns and summons protection from evil; the white candle burns and brings you cleansing and purifying. meditate on the flames and allow their warm auras to surround you.
2. write the person’s full name (if it’s known) on a small piece of paper. hold the paper in your hands and let yourself feel angry, hurt, sad, or whatever this person makes you feel. charge the paper with the pain this person has caused you, until you feel done. then, take your pen and scribble out the person’s name until it’s completely blacked out and opaque.
3. fold the paper up as many times as you can, and throw it in the jar. sprinkle the pepper and cloves over the paper, then fill the jar with vinegar. this mixture banishes their evil from you and drowns out their will and power to harm you. close the jar tightly. if you wish, use some black wax from your candle to drip onto the lid and seal the jar shut.
4. place your banishment jar in a dark, hidden place, like the bottom drawer of a dresser or the corner of a closet. keep it forever, or until you feel its purpose is fulfilled.
Was It A Sign?
will-o-the-witch:
Well, maybe. Maybe not. Here are some little things that may help you figure out if it was really a grand message or not! The more of these you have, the more likely it is.
🦉It’s unusual. Let’s say you saw a deer. Sweet! That’s cool, but if you live in a wooded area and deer are really common, it’s really not that profound. It could be a message, or it could just be a deer.
🦉You asked for a sign. If you asked the universe or a certain deity for a sign, perhaps this is the follow through! For this type of thing, it’s usually good to ask for something specific enough that you couldn’t expect it every day, but not so much that it’s impossible. (My go to is a rose or a purple feather.) That way, you know that X thing is your sign without worrying too hard about it!
🦉It felt… different. Maybe the event isn’t terribly wild on its own, but it just really hit you, or the feeling was incredibly profound. Especially after doing research, and seeing how many things are symbols, your brain will make connections really quickly. That means sometimes we make something out of nothing. A strong emotional response is a good sign of a sign.
🦉It immediately felt like a sign. Let’s say you see a rainbow, and it’s really pretty. You enjoy it for a few minutes then go back inside. Later, you think, “Hm, that could have been a sign.” Maybe. But it also could be your brain going hey, I know things associated with rainbows! (In my opinion, this is the most important one. I feel like if you have to wonder if it was a sign, it wasn’t a sign. You might not know what it’s a sign of, but you will know it’s a sign. That’s just my UPG, though.)
🦉Any post-research lines up. If you get a neat vision and run the details through Google, you may find details that line up with certain lore. Maybe you knew this before, maybe not. If you didn’t, and connections keep happening with surprising accuracy, it’s a pretty good indicator!
🦉Think of why you want it to be a sign, if you do. There’s a big narrative that everybody involved in magic, Paganism, etc. is constantly having these profound religious experiences. This simply isn’t true. There’s no shame in wanting a story to share, or to feel special, or to “fit in” by getting signs from the universe. Sometimes we want signs for the sake of receiving signs, so if you’re trying to manufacture them by pulling on every little thing, you’re distracting yourself from enjoying the world exactly how it is. Don’t worry about signs and enjoy yourself. Animals and rainbows and all that are still pretty great even if every little thing doesn’t have a personal meaning.
  1. Make and create your poppet in your preferred method (though I do recommend using paper or cloth poppets). Once you have made your poppet write on it the words “I freeze you” anywhere you desire using your marker and the target’s name or initials.
  2. Fill your freezable container with the water you will be using and add in the chamomile which should aid the spell in making the person’s aggressive nature weaker.
  3. Place your poppet of the target into the water and make sure its submerged.
  4. “I freeze you away, into a cage of ice, so you cannot target or make me weep, I freeze you away so safety I keep.”
  5. If you have a lid for the container place it on, and place the entire thing into the freezer. Leave it there for as long as you wish to bind the person
Unbinding: To unbind the person and cancel the spell simply remove from the freezer, place in the sun and state three times “I thaw you out, I free you” and leave it there (preferably on a towel to prevent a mess) until it is fully melted. Dispose of the water and poppet properly.
WHAT IS ROOT ROT? HOW CAN I TREAT IT?
diygabl:
What is Root Rot?
Root rot is a condition found in both indoor and outdoor plants, although more common in indoor plants with poor drainage. As the name states, the roots of the plant rot. Usually, this is a result of overwatering. In houseplants, it is a very common problem and is slightly less common in outdoor plants. In both indoor and outdoor plants, it is usually lethal and there are few effective treatments.
So my family arguessometimes and i want to either charge an object or find a crystal that would help for emotional protection. Any help?
thesigilwitch:
For crystals, I’d recommend amethyst [promotes calmness and tranquility], agate (blue lace) [more calming energies], fluorite [this tends to drain negativity from any situation and hold onto it], smokey quartz [removes negative energies], chalcedony [more negativity removal], citrine [calms and provides energy at the same time],
amazonite [stabilizes emotions], lapis lazuli [hardcore protective], turquoise [protects the home], onyx [protection], either red or brown tiger’s eye [more protection], or peridot [protection protection protection]
Here are some links to a ton of protection spells; obviously not all the spells could be applied or used directly to your situation, but
going through some of those should give you some ideas for protective symbolism for your specific thing. I’d say charge the item / crystal in a bowl of herbs associated with protection and pumped full with your desires and energies to be kept safe from all the drama.
Good luck!
Aphrodite’s sugar scrub spell
crybambi-posts:
image
This face scrub is my own concoction and works better then any store bought face mask. You can save it in the fridge for up to two weeks or make a smaller fresh batch every time you feel your skin needs that extra pickup.
Things you will need:
  • Small air tight jar (if keeping longer then one use) or bowel
  • Tumbled rose quartz crystal – Self love
  • Parsley – Sacred to Venus and Aphrodite. Brightens skin and fights bacteria.
  • Sugar – Drawing romance to you. Exfoliate agent.
  • Honey – Sweetens your appearance. Slows down ageing process.
  • Olive oil – Sacred to Aphrodite. Moisturizes skin.
  • Lemon juice – Purifies your spell and pairs well with love spells. Clarifies the skin.
  • Rose petals – Symbol of love. Soothes irritation.
Place rose petals into the bottom of your bowel or jar and set your rose quartz over top of them. Pour a small amount of each ingredient over the quartz, envisioning them pulling the self loving properties from the stone and into the scrub. Mix all ingredients together to form a thick paste.
Massage over the face avoiding eyes and wash with a warm cloth. Then enjoy your smooth exfoliated skin!
Note: Don’t forget to remove your quartz after and wash it thoroughly to be used again!
🌿Hibiscus: thought to help stimulate hair follicles and increase hair growth. Mostly ingested as a herbal tea or hair oil.
🌿Nettle: full of vitamins, iron, silica and omega 3 fatty acids. everything your hair needs to stay healthy and grow. Traditionally used as hair loss cure. Mostly ingested as tea.
🌿Rosemary: keeps hair strong and vibrant, promotes growth. best used as hair rinse. (see rinse recipe and instructions below hair care tips)
Hair Care tips
✨Try to avoid heat styling&, blowdryer and irons
✨Try to avoid styling products and sprays
✨Only wash your hair when you really have to, the natural oils (sebum) that make it look greasy are actually really good for your hair!
✨Use silk pillow covers
✨Massage your scalp regularly
✨Use oils such as coconut oil, almond oil, etc to massage your scalp an hour before washing your hair
✨Cut split ends, once your ends start splitting it will interfere with hair growth so just cut them off even i you’ll lose some length. It’ll be better in the long run.
✨Avoid clip in extensions. I understand you want long hair NOW but in the long run extensions will interfere with hair growth. The clips can also pull out your hair because of the weight. People who use them for years often get bald spots.
🌿Rinse Recipe🌿
Making a hair rinse is super easy and can be done with almost any ingredient. I’ll be using Rosemary as an example but this can also be done with Nettle, Hibiscus,…
You will need:
🌿 1 cup of water
🌿 1 teaspoon Rosemary leaves
🌿 pot or pan or whatever
All you need to do is add the water and the leaves in the pot or pan and bring to a boil. Once the mixture is boiling, lower the heat so it can simmer for 3 minutes. Afterwards, let your mixture cool.
If you want to make more simply double the amount of ingredients. 2 cups of water and 2 teaspoons of Rosemary. It’s that simple.
How to use: after you wash and condition your hair, give it a final rinse with the rosemary rinse you made. leave it in your hair for 20-30 minutes and massage your scalp. rinse with water afterwards.
Happy hair growing!✨
☀️Sun water☀️
🌞Used for:
Protection, healing (especially physical), happiness, truth, clairvoyance, courage, strength, prosperity, luck, self-love, cleansing, confidence, leadership, justice, gardening, growth, warmth, comfort, fertility, and creativity
🌞How to make it:
Leave the water on a sunny windowsill or outside, preferably in direct sunlight. Sunrise, 9 am, 12 pm, and 3 pm are perfect times for this, or you can leave it from sunrise to sunset. You can also add herbs and flowers to it as well (lemon peels, orange peels, marigolds, chamomile, cinnamon, sunflower, etc.) Or charge it with some stones (like sunstone, orange calcite, citrine, tigers eye, goldstone or carnelian), but please don’t put these stones in the water. You can also make a sun tea with sun water for a very potent solar spell.
Some Basic Spirit Work Things (for beginners)
-Not all spirits are evil
-Not all spirits are good, either
-Not all demons are bad or evil
-Some demons are really cool and make awesome friends!
-Some demons want to kill you and do bad things to you
-Along the same lines, hellbeings can be very nice or very mean
-Some spirits look scary but are actually very kind
-Some spirits look sweet/cute but actually want to hurt you in the worst ways
-Not everything is black or white, evil or good, apples or bananas. Sometimes spirits can be in between, or off the charts completely.
-(The previous statement applies to their moral alignment, their ethics, their friendliness, their desire to hurt humans, and pretty much anything else)
-Spirit work is really fucking dangerous, but there are ways to be safe.
-Yes, spirits can affect your physical body. It happens, good or bad.
-Wards. Look up warding. Get a good handle on warding before you start practicing spirit work.
-Spirits are actual beings, which means that they have thoughts, feelings, and lives outside of you and yours.
-Safety should probably be your #1 priority in spirit work, unless you really have a death wish for yourself (or enjoy being in immense pain… I’m not going to judge)
-Spirits and spirit work are probably going to be different than your expectations.
-The spirit world is much different than ours, but can also be quite similar!
-Once you start working with spirits, more tend to show up. You kind of send out a signal that attracts other spirits once you flip that spirit working switch to the on position. Not all of them are going to be friendly.
-Spirits can be dirty lying decievers, but they can also be your best and closest friend, depending on which ones you meet. And sometimes you’ll think a spirit is ur best friend just to find out, days/months/years later, that they’re actually a dirty lying deciever! Don’t trust them right away!
Psychic Exercises✨
things to do to increase psychic abilities. these are what i personally do as a claircognizant empath to enhance my knowledge of the world around me 🌻🌎💫
  • pull a daily tarot card, rune, or other divination device
  • sit down and paint something impressionistic. “but James!” you say, “I’m not an artist!!” well, bullshit. you don’t needa be artistic for this one, kiddos. i just use an index card and a small brush, then pick whatever colors im feeling that day. is it swirly? edgy? scattered? dark? light? interpret this, then reflect later to see if it was correct
  • think of a person you’re gonna see in the upcoming day. what outfit are they wearing? is their hair different? is there something in their teeth? write these things down, then see later if they are correct
  • meditate. yes yes i know, the dreaded tip. if you have adhd like me, or you just can’t sit still, do it while stretching, walking, cleaning, showering, or doing any monotonous work. even if it’s only for 3 minutes. just focus on what you hear, see, smell, feel, etc. it helps, trust me
  • keep a dream journal (yea i know, another dreaded tip)
  • write down every little thing that could maybe possibly be considered psychic. get a call from someone you were just thinking about? guessed what song would be next on shuffle? write it down
  • speaking of song guessing on shuffle, do it!! it’s simple and fun, even if you don’t get it right every time
  • spend more time with your divination tools, even if you aren’t actively using them. put them near your pillow (okay no lie this tip reeeeaaaallyyy helps), take them to work, put them next to your bath, whatever works for you
  • raise your vibration. and i know this can mean a lot of things for different people, and it also sounds rly hippy, but listen. what i mean is, constantly check yourself- your surroundings, your random thoughts, your emotions, etc. set an alarm to remind you to be more aware, if you gotta. if you are aware of what’s going on externally and within, you will be more prone to noticing your psychic tendencies
  • make your own sigils. this is one of the easiest form of magick, and can be done by anyone. make sigils for everything- “i am psychic,” “i am confident,” “i am suspected of secretly being Godzilla,” honestly everything. the point isn’t to make sigils that necessarily work, it’s just to sit down and put an intention into physical form. this is kinda like the painting one, except instead of thinking abt what could happen, you’re stating what will/is happening, which is important.
  • place a piece of amethyst on your forehead for a few seconds every night while laying in bed. doesn’t have to be too long, just long enough to let your muscles relax and let out all the tension from the day
and thas it! feel free to add more if you can think of something i didn’t put
Spirits and Names
macabre-incarnate:
It used to be fully understood that the same rules to do not apply to every species of spirit. Of course they wouldn’t. it would be ignorant to think that right? Yet spirit workers do it everyday and harass those who don’t fall in line with their misguided rules. You saw the title of this post, you know what this is about, spirits and the topic of names. Everyone knows the faerie rule that you don’t tell faeries your name and you don’t ask for theirs, instead you ask what you may call them and tell them what they may call you. This way you are not lying by saying ‘my name is -insert false name’ and you aren’t giving them you real name. Now not all fae will use your name against you somehow, some don’t care, but it is always better to be safe then sorry. This is all understandable and reasonable. This is something people have said about faeries for a long, long time, yet this is where the lines start to get blurred and people loose their heads. Faeries rules only apply to faeries.
It’s what makes it a faeries rule. You wouldn’t assume an angel’s culture, rules, and the way you work with them is the same as a vampires, so why is this the exception? When did it stop becoming a faerie rule are start becoming a spirit work rule that causes you to get attacked if you don’t follow it. I will be honest with you, I don’t know. I think it may have something to do with the topic of summoning and spirit stealing. While it isn’t as big of a problem as people like to act like it is there are those small few assholes that can and will steal people companions. Why? Usually out of some misguided sense of justice. We all know the type, the spirit worker who acts like their life is a YA novel and that they have to save spirits from the evil clutched of tumblr usesr faeriewhispers33  (i don’t know if that’s an actual user i just made it up). Anyway, it leads to people being paranoid. More and more you see posts along the lines of ‘NEVER POST YOUR SPIRIT COMPANIONS NAME’ and ‘DONT TELL SPIRITS YOUR NAME’ and they always use the faerie rule to back up their argument, suddenly it’s no longer out of fear that someone will use your companions name as a way to summon them and steal them from you now it’s for your safety.
Here the thing, it’s almost impossible to keep a spirit from learning your name if you work with them outside of the astral. Most spirit workers love to work with their companion in their home, it’s easier then astral travel. Yet there are dozens of people in your life that could metaphorically ‘spill the beans’ just by greeting you or calling you for dinner. It is impossible to keep something as simple as your name a secret. This may shock you a bit but, most spirits don’t care what your name is. Why? because they aren’t faeries and these rules don’t apply to them.
Now on the topic of your companions names. Some people don’t say their companions names publicly because that is the spirits preference, most people have a nickname for their companion in these cases but let me share a secret with you. The chance that your companions name is a name that exists in the human language is slim and 50% of the time the name you are given is a nickname. Not because the spirit doesn’t trust you with their name, but because their name is not translatable or pronounceable in our language. This is also why a lot of people who attempt to use a Ouija board to get a spirits name get a button mashed fuckery of random letters that make no sense. I can guarantee your companions name isnt KXGJA. Now there are a few times where the name can be translated and it does manage to match up with a human name or just something pronounceable. So while you should respect your companions wishes and keep their name a secret if they want, even if it’s a nickname, don’t jump to conclusions and attack those whose companions couldn’t care less.
I am not threatening my companions by using their ‘names’ on the internet, they don’t care. If they did care, I wouldn’t do it. In case it wasn’t clear enough.
🚨🚨FAERIE RULES DON’T APPLY TO ALL SPIRITS🚨🚨
Storm Witch Tip:
crow-witch:
A storm is likely to come when:
  • deciduous trees flip their leaves due to wind direction
  • birds fly low in the sky, and go quiet
  • there’s a southerly wind (in the US)
  • there’s a red dawn in the east
  • layers of nimbus clouds move in opposite directions
  • the morning grass is dry of dew
  • an earthy scent rises from the soil and flowers
  • pine cones remain closed
  • a halo rings the moon at night
  • nights are warm in winter (cloud cover insulation)
  • smoke swirls and descends, instead of a steady rise
Remember, low pressure brings wet weather.
💜 self-love witch bottle spell 💜
lunarvvitch:
image
Hey sweet spirits! I made this witch bottle spell to help me be kinder to myself and not let others’ aggressions harm me.
Ingredients:
  • Sea salt
  • Rose petals
  • Lavender (I used lavender oil)
  • Clove buds
  • Basil
  • Rosemary
  • Allspice
  • Moon water
  • A small piece of yellow paper
  • A pen
  • A deep blue or violet candle
  • A medium glass bottle (I get mine in bulk from Amazon)
  • Clear quartz chips OR a piece of quartz
Instructions:
  1. This spell should be performed during a Full or First quarter moon.
  2. Light your candle. While the candle burns, draw a sigil on your yellow paper. I used “I WILL LOVE MYSELF” to make mine, but I unfortunately forgot to take a photo of the sigil before I popped it in the bottle!
  3. After slipping the sigil into the bottle, fill it with just a pinch each of the salt and herbs. Top it off with just a couple drops of moon water.
  4. If possible, throw some clear quartz chips in there. I didn’t have any, so I just charged it next to a larger piece of quartz.
  5. Use the candle wax to seal the bottle.
  6. Charge the bottle under the moon overnight and be sure to fetch it before the sun comes up.
I keep mine under my desk where I spend most of my time studying and working.
